I'd say in the final 15minutes Bertos was very good. Just again, crosses in to the box let us down.

The problem is that is what Bertos is there to do and he didn't do it, neither did Ifil or Lochead though so it is not just his fault.

Ricki has to take responsibility as well his tactics have been poor, why stick one of your smaller players up front on his own all the time? If I can see it's not working why can't he?.

didnt Terry have to have a meeting with the team last year and ask them to pull finger?  It might be time for that meeting again

Mate, easy on, that was 30 odd minutes of sh*t. We're not doomed for the wooden spoon.

Among the things that pissed me off tonight;

Sigmund - is not and never will be a WB - just toooooo slooooow - watch just about every Heart attack that nearly did or did end in a goal. Started down Sigmund's side and he makes a token effort to block the cross from 5 yards away.

Bertos - why don't I f**k about on the ball and give the 2nd defender time to come over and double team me. Last 15 minutes Bertos should be full 90 minute Bertos.

Brown - where the hell were you for the 75 minutes before you scored and the 15 minutes after ?

Ifill - pull finger, no seriously pull finger.

Ward - straight after getting caught in possession and giving a goal away nearly does the same thing again.

Whole damn lot - I don't think we won a 50:50 ball all night - we looked like a bunch of soft cocks.

Mac - how can a guy a foot taller than everyone else be so sh*t in the air.

Herbert - losing so takes off striker ???????????

Our crosses and corners - you are professional footballers for f**ks sake and you can't cross a ball or hit a decent corner ?

Significant amounts of angst went in to this post.

That feels better !!!

Mate,  they are supposed to be professional players, they havent been too professional this week and we know how hard it is in this league to play catch up.  Points lost this week that we cant make up.  Play like that at home and you can kiss goodbye the unbeaten run

I agree about Siggie not being a natural wing back. Slow to turn and will get beaten easily by anyone with a quick turn of pace.  Maybe he will just have to accept that he is a second choice central defender right now.

Probably the worst 30 mins we've played for yonks.  Heart switched their focus from Sigmund to Lockhead on the other side, and it was all over. How others crumbled when the heat was on, was a real surprise. Lockhead was appalling.
Hope Herbert gets the please explain this week for the Melbourne trip. Conservative selections, conservative game plan, and after watching him bring on Hearfield as the first sub, I'm not sure RC is on top of things right now.
Not having Pavlovic available today was a blow. Thought Greenacre did Ok again, but Pavlovic has to start later this week. Shows 2 things few others are currently display - total sharpness and total passion.
Feel sorry for Terry S - he and the fans deserve better.

Just like to mention again what was up with Herbert taking off Greenie for Hearfield after we down a goal??!!! Should of taken Brown off and chucked McCalister up front or gone for broke and taken Lochy off.
Very poor showing all round, Cut Ward some slack though a lot of our movement into the box came from him and he's really impressed the last couple of games.

Seriously he didnt do anything wrong today nor did he do anything right he definatly looks better up the field. Did tim brown even touch the ball apart from the goal and a shot in the first half.

Already brought it up. We sure do love midfielders. The thing with Ward is that he does somthing good then gives the ball away with a sh*t pass or somthing.

Anyone considered it was so ifill could go up front...? People also forgetting lochy coming off for Mac afterward, changing our formation to an attacking 3-5-2 formation. You ricki haters just make this stuff up a you go along don't you

I thought our biggest problem was ball speed. it was too slow, we didnt keep it moving and it was really easy for Melb to shut us down, especially in the center mid area.

We went from being comfortably the better team to being quite clueless for most of the second half.  We just got worse as the game went on.

Well I was feeling quite buoyant after the midweek game, but a bit deflated now.  I think they got a bit complacent - then shaken after the 1st goal.  McAlister seems a bit lumbering too me.  It's a long season.  We've got too pace ourselves,  Ifill looks like he needs a rest - we need him fresh.

Late in the game Bertos beat 2 defenders - then stuffed around and brought them back into play - losing the ball and never getting the cross in - what's with that?

Agree with Stack. We get in the final third and are so slow to do anything that we become completely predictable. Unless one of Ifill's drops of the shoulder come off, we create basically nothing, other than aimless chipped crosses into the box. Steve-O2010-09-19 20:00:13

Yeah he always does that, its very annoying! Its like beating a player once isnt enough for him so he has to go back and do it again.

Fair call that but they waited until they were behind the 8 ball and had to start chasing the game for them to break out of their conservative mind set

Firstly, two clear chances in the box for people to shoot, and they f**king pass it.

Second, f**king hell cut out the training pitch bullsh*t. Use the f**king ball or pass it. Frustrating watching the same predictable step-over, run into a defender's feet, turn the ball over crap multiple times in a game.

Third, lazy pricks need to be drilled into chasing the ball after they've turned it over. I don't think I saw Hearfield go faster than a fat man's jog.
Turning around, waving your hands, shrugging your shoulders, blaming the ref or your team mates isn't getting the f**king ball back.

sh*ttiest second half performance in years

Telling stat mentioned in the 2nd half I think it was that the Phoenix have the fewest shots on goal in the A League.

It was good to see Daniel inject a bit of positivity into the team's play when he came on. It'd be good to see a bit more game-time from him (has somebody already suggested this?).

Can someone please slip a couple of caffeine tablets into Tim Brown's water bottle before the game?! He can't just drift about in the midfield like he did today without trying to be more involved.

We made the Heart look good today.
