Mate, I'll bet you $100 we win. Up by 2 goals with this much played, I think you're allowed to say "looks like they'll win". Not allowed to say "they can't lose".

I like you. You should post more often!

I wouldn't want to go dragging the standard of this forum down - it's in a nice whiney-and-sometimes-amusing state as it is ;)

Great win, great crowd.

Leo (and Ifill) the standouts for mine - really picked up his game. A great shame it looks like he's got a fairly serious injury..Hope hes ok!

I always thought the Heart were the most exciting, attacking team in the league but today they have been completely outplayed by a well drilled, well organized Nix team.
Well done.I may be a bit premature but ive started saving for the Grand Final (from now)!!

Home final in Welly would be a nightmare for other clubs.

This is your year.

Well done Wellingtonians for answering the call! Hopefully the win should bring a few more out for the next home game and we might crack 15k!

Stand up for the Phoenix at 67mins and near the end was fantastic!

Ricki just said that Leo Bertos is fine, according to the doctor.
Permalink Permalink
about 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
That is terrific news.

Leo has had his best 2 performances of the season these last couple of weeks (off the bench and starting today)

We don't have a big enough squad to afford any injuries at this point

Next game against Heart i'm sure Daniel will finally get one of those free kicks - that game in Morwell he hit the right post as well!

Is it just a running gag on this forum re people hoping Bertos gets an injury or do they really not rate him?

Slater & Aloisi were just saying what a difficult final it would be for a visiting team.

They meant if we got 2nd and hosted the semi or whatever it's called

Did anyone notice Greenacre seemingly crying after the goal? Dad told me he saw it; anyone else?

Basically, the talk on this forum all year has been that Bertos and Tim Brown have been woeful, keeping deserving players like Daniel out of the starting 11, but that Ricki has some mysterious "man love" for them that keeps them undeservedly in the team. I don't know about hoping they get injured, but there have been certainly those hoping Brown at least gets suspended.

Can we start another thread for this crap instead of cluttering up a good match one ?

There is a world of difference between suggesting that a suspension might help the makeup of our side and wishing an injury upon any of them...

Most of the time they are complimentary except for the odd 'KIWIS OUT' which is expected - usually from fans of the team we just beat.

No, seriously the overwhelming majority of Aussies are well wishers, if you see a post that opposes a NZ team in the A-League or is pissed at Welly doing well then you can take heart ( no pun intended) from them being in the tiny, insular minority.

FACT.
