What you suggested was bullsh*te actually and taking away from a good win

Never. I have promised ifill free icecream if he scores one. Think I'll extend that to any player!

TAB put on drinks at the Grand - was anyone there?

I have suggested that perhaps the TAB should run this as an ongoing promotion - free drinks every home game where a player scores a brace.

Doloras....you are without doubt the most unpleasant person posting on these threads. Every week after a great win you come on here spouting your vitriole.

To suggest that there are some people on YF who would be cheering wildely if leo has broken his leg is just totally unexceptible....IMO you should be BANNED!!!!!

Apparently they won't let us play it here. Which is really f**ked.

When did you hear that?

It's not been said...yet.

But a few folks on twitter have been looking at the precedent a few years back where Newcastle (or CCM?) were forced to give up home advantage & play in Sydney, as the FFA felt they wouldn't get a large/full crowd.

At the time, the 'What if the Phoenix ever earn a home final' scenario was discussed (maybe only on here), and the gist was that the GF would have to be played in OZ for the same reason.

36,000 or so attended that game and apparently SFS has a capacity of 44,000, which is the smallest capacity of any ground that the A-League GF has been played at (thus far).

While Wellington can accommodate around 36,000 in a sell-out, the FFA may well deem that they are interested in *capacity* rather than the attendance (if we for example made a case that we WOULD sell all 36,000 seats).

Quick question - why the one-off black shirt/Black Out campaign?

Yes, I know it was for charity/kids, but why today? And I kind of get the weak 'Black Heart' punnery.

Was it because the last couple of Januarys we had games moved because of ACDC & Bon Jovi? Was it case of tapping into an "annual bogan night at the Stadium each January" kind of thing?
If we build it, the bogans will come? (all 13000 of them)

Whatever it was, it seemed to work, even without YF consultation.

Well done WP marketing.

I doubt there is a risk of this happening, but there is a major difference to a NSW team playing a final in Sydney to us in Aus.

Who cares why?

That's why they are the marketing people and we are the unwashed fans... they know how to do their jobs.

It worked.

13,601 people there today.

BOOM SHANKA!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

I also highly doubt it will happen but regardless got flamed in trying to open a discussion about it so I deleted it before I was killed.

So if it actually happened (either this year or in future, etc.) do you think they would let us host a GF??

Not this week i'm afraid.

Considering options to travel down pre-finals if you're keen.

Car-Pool FTW!

Either way I have to travel but travel to Welly would be so much easier.

I'd say I'm 98% certain it would be here.  They would squeeze in extra seats and boost to 40k(ish) and it would be here.

Thank you for your mature reply. I'm bloody impressed with that coming from you compared to the flaming I've received tonight from less drunk people sitting all night in front of their computers.

I suspect that if we manage to qualify in the top 2 that this will all be decided before the Home and Away series kicks off? Or are the FFA dirty cheats?

I can't talk abiout that.  If hypothetically we are discussing what could happen ne season in the future I can talk.  If you are discussing what might happen this season I can't discuss it.

When the Bogans and the Gypsies played in the Grand Final it was moved due to Sydney as Bluetongue Stadium (Graham Park) was deemed too small!

Great game, awesome atmosphere. Best game for Bertos in quite some time. Ifill has a real striker's instinct. Massive. Our back four look are as well-oiled, as, well, a well-oiled machine.

Only downside was retard/numpty who didn't understand what 'Stand-up for the Phoenix' means. Probably a rugby-person, but definitely an a-hole.

Hey you bastards I'm still here.
