Salty Dogs away.

Huge. 3 points there really could define our season.

Three for me, and two for them.

2-0 I'm happy with that, if you're not there's something wrong with you, seriously.

HUGE WIN!!!

Lochhead just gave us a solid backline we need, and Ward is the exact type of player we've been needing.

ROJAS!!!!!!!!

Especially given it was complete dominance from start to finish, irrespective of scoreline.

Three for me, and two for them.

lol I'm at work so I was unable to watch and was planning on watching the replay tomorrow morning before the Toffees game...not sure I'll bother! Sounds like it was a one-way panneling of the highest order, fair play to you!

I was 100% right mates. Nix dominated from the moment they walked on the pitch; top possession; top territory and solid passing. Only downfall was that we didn't collect as many crosses as we would have liked. Could have been 6:0. Excellent work by the boys upfront - made the Melbourne defense look like a bunch of Pansy f**kin Wongs.

ON to the next Town - YAR YAR YAR PHOENIX.

Just beautiful!! I missed the game vs Jets but damn I'm glad I didn't miss this tonight. Everyone stepped up, Brown looked like he wanted to play and even old Donkey himself had more good touches than bad.
Rojas!
Lockie!
and was impressed with Ward though on occasion looked like he was flagging.
3 Points!!! COYN!

Wow.

MacAllister
Rojas
Siggy
Vukovic
Lia

All class.  Loved it.  Playing like that we could beat any team in the league bar the Roar who we'd be unlucky to draw with.

The Irish guy who had his first Nix game (posted about page 10) - keen to hear his view on the game.  How does the Irish standard compare and more importantly did he enjoy it.

Great 100th for Ricki.

Very happy, few away results and we could be on course for the playoffs.

Not party to disciplinary/not in the picture things from RH, but cannot understand why Ward (our best creative midfielder) and our "donkey' (DMac)  weren't played thru our early season. Really played so well to tonight. Just re-sign Rojas for lords sake. Yeah it was a cup final, but now RH juts needs top forget about these away defence tactics and just prove how good they are. Best performace for a year. So rapt.

That's the best performance of the season, even better than Newcastle. Everyone stepped up in Ifill's absence but Rojas was just incredible. He is the Messi of the A league

Great win for the lads - created plenty of chances and the dam had to burst (though its football, sometimes it doesn't) eventually.

Don't have a bad word to say about any Phoenix player tonight - it really was a good performance.

Now onto CCM away. Traditionally we've done alright there (outside of season 1) and the onus is on us to pick up something.

Merrick should check under his car every time he starts it, going by the reponse his performance is receiving on MVFC.net.

Just have to say that I think that could be one of the most enjoyable Nix game I've ever been to (was out of town for the GCU 6-0 and have been kicking myself ever since). Playoff games last year were more important, and had more drama, but just in terms of actually enjoying the game itself. Completely dominated it.

So so so so good to have Lochy at LB and Muscat at DM.

Basically the only time Ward hasn't been played is when he's been injured

Yep, crazy. One of the biggest reasons we dominated. He also played Hernandez up front with 3 DM's and subbed Angulo off 25 mins in

Hilarious coaching performance valeo2011-01-05 22:34:00

A great win indeed. Yellow fever superb as ever. Felt like a real home game and Melbourne were never in the game at all. For what it is worth here is a video I took on my new Android phone at the 80 minute mark. Yes, I'm a geek, but no matter, it was a fantastic evening. Even the drunkish "I-am-a-rubgby-fan-attending-my-first-soccer-game" people in front of us couldn't spoil the evening.

Vinnie obvious played close attention to the football video he got for xmas

and we do have the best cart-horse in the league

Rojas -sheer genius

great game (despite a slightly nerve-racking half-time having failed to score from our chances)

cool to have Lochy back - he did well after that lay-off

Manny and Siggy - those two have hearts the size of lions

HAPPY!!

I love it when we win and the biggest complaint is that we had the opportunity but failed to score more.

Hearfield fairly solid though one or two things about his performance disappointed me.  When he was running onto a loose ball and realized the defender could reach the ball before him instead of speeding up to nip in ahead of him (which he could have done) he slowed down and ended up fouling Vargas (which is a good thing but no goal resulted).

Hearfield's crossing was very poor too but dont mind that as long as his defending is solid

Especially when there were 6 dreaded Aussies in the team.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
