The crowd was big and noisy and happy. You could sense the tension building up to the first goal...and then everyone went nuts.

Top games from two playersI have regularly bagged. Lia and Dmac were very good.

Why is it that this season is going like last season. We stutter along and then suddenly as the end approaches we decide its time to get out of negative mode and start attacking. We have some very good players but it has taken us 20 odd games to get out of a conservative mode and start being positive. We look so so good when we go out and attack.

Maybe Ricki has made it compulsory for the player to read this forum so that they realise they have not been playing as well as they can.

Perhaps this^^.
Vince may have seen the past comments about his performances of late.
I was impressed last night with his work rate and relative effectiveness.Well done Vince!
More of the same for the rest of the season would be great, ta.

Terry's Christmas Bonus. That's what does it.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

imo, The Yellow Fever Christmas bonus from Terry should be re-signing Marco for 2 seasons minimum.

That way, when the Serie A  or Premier League teams come calling   with a juicy offer over the next 2 seasons the fee to the Nix will cover the Nix outgoings, the Nix outstandings... AND the Christmas Bonuses too!

(Note to Marco Rojas' Dad/Manager: If Turkey or China come calling...the answer is NO! refer Shane Smeltz for details......)

Hang on - if those countries come calling we'll likely see Marco back in a couple of weeks time.

As long as we don't file the paper work we could pocket the money and keep Marco.

(Nix mgmnt - talk to NZF re filing paper work, also Glen Moss can provide some advice)

Hang on Junior 82  The Nix run a legit outfit round here
Right this very minute, distinguished hacks from the UK Sunday Times have probably just added to their "must follow up/ Stings for 2011" files, after maintaining a watching brief on this forum in this simmering bed of football corruption that is Oceania.
Those sorts of tactics could get us offside with FIFA and ...(lawd preserve us!)..the almighty Ethics Committee.
(Consult Reynold Temaari for the gruesome details)..Nudge nudge

Back on topic...remnants of silly season still lingering...sorry all.

Totally enjoyable summer night's entertainment that...cold Isaacs with my stepson at the BB first, steaming warm in there...real air of expectancy in the walk up to the RoF.
YF in fine form from the start, The Nix were well rested and well primed from the whistle too.

I won't comment on individuals performances as well covered in above posts,
but Ricki's 100th is up there with the best ones.
Well done Wellington Phoenix!!

Right now Ricky should be telling Marco that we are too legit to quit.  And if any club comes sniffing around the message will be "you can't touch this".

Marco should then be telling Ricky that he won't sign with another club as long as "you do not pass me by".

If that happens then it's all good. (and this is the way we roll).

I'm so pleased with everyone that played last night - everyone played really really well, and I was very happy with Lochy and Rojas's teamwork on the wing, god, I'm so glad to have Lochhead back!

I love football!

..and Vinnie was great AGAIN!!!
equally fine performances by all the others as well.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

We're basically bi-polar - overly happy after most home games and then we plunge into deep depression after away games

Well the Melbourne fans have suggested some of their players stab themselves after that game.

...I'm fairly certain we've never gone that far.

We fight amongst ourselves.  First it starts of with mild mocking, then it escalates into vuvuzelas and then stabbing children.

Edit: Or maybe it was lynching - I forget.  But it's serious anyways.

I'm pretty sure thats mostly down to people not posting during the game, when you look at the away gane threads about 5-10 pages in the middle are during game commenting on how bad the referee is/that was a foul/penalty!!/I hate our away games ect.
