But if it's unrealistic why go for it? Isn't that the same as "banging your head against a wall?"

Well why not go for it. Just don't be too dissapointed if you don't acheive the aim. Look, we might as well go into these games agressive and full of confidence rather pre-accepting that we will lose.

Mixed views if that is the line-up - I don't rate Mac so not problem with him being dropped but, on the other hand, we have struggled with Greenie on his todd up front.

Hopefully Brown will be given the message to get forward at every opportunity to give Greeny options.

Pleased if it is Marco and Ward on the flanks - they are the two form wide players.

Bench will be interesting; I'd guess Leo, Daniel and Mac but would prefer Pav for the latter.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Why aren't we practicing 4-4-2!! This formation hasn't turned out very well in the past especially with Greenie alone up front. He'll end up isolated again and with 5 in the mid-field again.
Although Rojas and Ward and Lochy starting is cause for optimism so who knows, could work out. Will be a challenge, Good luck boys!!

Please no Greenie alone up front.....has not worked at all. Play 442. Drop Lia and play Mooscat and Brown together in mid plus Dmac/Pav plus Greenie up front.
Not really excited about our strikers but there very little choice.

Looks like Bertos and Daniel are in doubt, daniel has a throat infection. Lochhead almost a certainty

very nervous about this one.

I am f**king pissed I am going to miss another home game because of no money. Am glad to see Lochhead returning now.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

4-3-3 normally works pretty well against Melbourne

with Manny/Lia/Brown in the middle Hernandez hasn't usually got much of a sniff against us

What is so special about 4-4-2?

Are we going to win every game 5-0 if we play it?

It's good if you want to play shit football with a big man/little man combo up front, hoofing it to them whenever possible.

Three for me, and two for them.

anybody knows how much the parking fee at westpac for this midweek game? is it still $30?
Permalink Permalink
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I think it's $10 only for mid-week games, ring and check on the day Alvin.

edit: says on here it is $30, they need to update the photos, Mossy with his nix strip on! The $10 was only for November.

fair point. then again, didn't we concede 2 goals in 5 minutes and play quite average?
Personally, I'd start with 4-4-2 and maybe switch to 4-3-3 later on.

Which is about exactly what we do regardless. We can do it with one small guy and have it not work or we can do it with two and probably have it work out for us.
We might not win 5-nil every week, but we can win 4-4-2-nil evey week.

True but that was against a Melbourne back 3 and I'm not sure whether their playing that anymore. Are they?

At the end of the day If we win I'll be happy, but if not there will be half a dozen people howling 4-4-2.

Absolute must win, real 6 pointer here pull the victory touching distance and start breathing down the necks of the Heart.
Since Grandadi is holding out on us I'll shove a prediction into the fray.
Phoenix to win 3-1
Melbourne attack not good enough without archie and kruse, Herdandez taken out of the game.

The melbourne defense isn't actually all that up to scratch, they don't have many clean sheets they win by virtue of their powerful goal scoring ability but are somewhat lacking several of their best.
Allsop might be back but not in the form they need.

Kevin Muscat is being rested for this one.  Allsopp on the bench with Ricardinho starting in place of Kruse.

Anything to do with the fact he is on 3 Yellows and they play Adelaide and Sydney in the next two matches. If he picked up yellows in match against us and Adelaide he would miss Sydney match...

Don't think so.  After 21 games the yellow card count for a suspension goes up to eight.  He's just being rested because they have three games in a week and he's 37.
