No he is right we have been poor

Not all season......outclassed tonight no doubt

We have really have shown nothing so far this season, we look slow and ponderous, our midfield is absent most of the time, our passing is poor as is our movement on and off the ball. We just seem to have no idea at times.

It's not a new thing, though. We've defended horribly all season

Ricki changing to 3 at the back didn't help.

and that is pathetic. No f**king pride in the club. Just let him waltz in to score.valeo2010-11-03 21:23:49

Most of the A league teams have upped their game this season...we have not!...we are still playing the same style football and not very well either. The nix are a very tactically naieve side and im afraid that this has to go down to the manager and coaches

Big difference I have seen is that in the box we had no time or space to shoot, always under pressure from a defender, and quite the opposite from us. See the Mitch Nicholls marking and all the other goals they have got

Holy sh*t, I don't think anyone was within 20m of a man on the penalty spot other than Paston.

Absolutely f**king ridiculous.

Too many on the forum here accept poor play by our team, the team, players and coaching staff need to know how the fans feels.  The standard of play is unacceptable, if they worked for me and preformed like this they would be sacked

I hope this makes the players and management sit up and think because they have let the fans and themselves down with this performance.

To be fair we've played worse this season - Brisbane are the best footballing team in the league. Still, 4-1 hurts. It hurts bad.

Elliott made no difference whatsoever. Bit hard to be too harsh considering it's his first game with the team but eh

Ricki's tactics have been exposed big time. The whole '3 man back line that turns into a 5 man backline' works for teams that are trying to scrape a point out of a game, i.e when playing against much better opposition. This is not the environment to do that. We have players that should be able to beat any team in this competition. The fatal flaw lies in the tactics. Players are not linking well with eachother, yet the same general line up seems to be rolling out week after week. And we're getting exploited week after week. It's frustrating for the fans and the general public, especially since the Nix are the football ambassadors in this country and we're trying to back up a good World Cup campaign.

You have a plan b), Ricki? You have the players. Use them.

Were we playing 3 at the back? In many of the wide view shots it looked like we had a back 4 to me.

We were playing with 4 at the back most of the game until we went 3-1 down. The 3 at the back _was_ the Plan B - obviously didn't work.

Think the issue isn't tactics but our players are being left behind this year. We're too slow, too laboured. Elliott wont help that.

Its not about accepting poor performance, its about not going over the top with angst and saying sh*t like they should all be sacked, rather than identifying problems and solutions. (Equate it to Jon Stewarts 'rally to restore sanity' - yes there are problems, but how bout we talk about them sensibly rather than just "SAKC RICHIe he iS tEh sh*t")

I thought Elliott did ok but the big problem was that he had to spend most of his energy trying to cover all the central midfield tracking because our wide midfielders didnt track back to help and left brisbane with player overload in midfield.

That 4th goal and the last 15 minutes in general hurt the most - no fight at all. I think Brisbane's passing just tired them all out by that stage..

He's always exposed.
I really don't think he knows what he's doing.
He is no motivator thats for sure, and tactics, lol.

Bar 1 piss poor half, we have been playing four at the back for the majority of the season chief.

Sseems to me that losing McKain has really upset our defensive structure. Last season durante, mckain, muscat, and lochhead were brilliant, so much so we were complining about how sh*te lochy was......we lose mckain and suddenyl dura is looking out of sorts, manny is clearly the strongest of the back four, we are missing locky badly...North has not been the answer we were hoping for.

Seriously someone has to step up and take control, and for mine it has to be dura, he is after all the captain of the side and he should be leading the back 3 or 4. Siggy cannot keep up with the pace of the a-league he has to be dropped, too many times he is caught playing the attackers on side at crucial times.

Our mids have got to learn from tonight and pass and move into space, we are way too slow on and off the ball, and finally our option taking is worse than school yard decision making.....how many time tonight was greenie or Ifill wide open and Leo, lia, brown passed the ball to the man with 3 defenders around him....average is kind, our defence was cut to shreds, our mids looked weak and on attack we looked directionless.

Rant over - but if I was on that plane to Perth tomorrow I'd be using the 9 hours in flight time to watch some video of Adelaide and brisbane games and memorise the way to play the game. theprof2010-11-03 21:36:21
