What's with all the PC crap about fans not being fans if they single out a player? If a play plays crap, then he plays crap. If a play plays crap 8 weeks on the trott or like  Lochhead has, consistently all season, then the question needs to be asked, why is he still starting? Very poor crosses, being caught out of position and giving away possession time after time.

As a die hard 'nix fan, I'm getting frustrated by the obvious fact Ricki has favourites within the squad. Lochhead should have been dropped weeks ago to give the lad a rest, a refresh and a chance to come back with vengence. I believe the other defenders work a lot harder, and sure make mistakes too, but not with the consistency Lochhead has this season. If Ricki can sit on the bench and happily watch Lochhead waste possession or fluff cross after cross, then jog back into defense without a care in the world - then there's something wrong in Ricki's player performance evaluations. A couple of decent headers in a game (that any left back should be making anyway) doesn't balance up with 3 poor crosses and half a dozen stray passes. THe guy then made the mistake that made them all look bad and put Durante in the position he did.

I'd have liked to see Durante at Left back with Sigmund and Dodd in the middle, and Manny on the right. It's probably too late in the day now with the suspensions and injuries.

More shots required x 10!
What a complete load of bollocks.

Oh yeah - top-value in that comment. So you reckon Lochhead is top of his game then...?!

Until you start making sense, that's the kind of response you get.
Lochead is the best lef back we have, and he deserves the place in the team. His standard this season hasn't been as good as last (particularly in regard to going forward and crossing), but overall has been solid.

Oh yeah - solid as the last 2 mins of that game. He's been caught out of position in every game this season.

Less of the arrogant crap mate. You've got a soft spot for him obviously, let it go.

Lochhead was not in a position to cover the second one, and in terms of lacking technique, utter rubbish. You don't become a pro footballer with no technique! Split second decisions forced on the same guy when they shouldn't have been. Simple footy fundamentals pal.

Lochead was there in cover, don't know what game you were watching. As for Durante's supposed technique - standing square on and flat-footed in front of a ball-runner coming at you at pace is asking for trouble.

And that's exactly what we got.

Simple footy fundamentals pal.

He wasn't there in cover - he was too late. A shot would have already gone and Lochhead wasn't goal side. Find your glasses.

Exactly, caught square on because possession was given away when it shouldn't have been. Dropped in it by the left back. Source of the problem buddy.

No-one was solid in the last 2 minutes of the last game.

As does everyone else, in every game. It's not the Premiership or La Liga. And believe it or not, people get caught out of position there, too! Wow.

Arrogant? Guilty as charged.Guess it's a national characteristic.
Soft spot for Lochead? Not really, not my type.

Hmm, so you see a guy coming at you at pace from 20 metres, so you just stand there waiting and stick your leg out once the ball's passed you?

If I did that at U12s, my coach would have skinned my alive. You obviously know nothing about football (as in, also, just beacuse you're not goal side doesn't mean you can't legally prevent the opponent from shooting/passing).

I thought Lochead did alright. I had been at the pub six hours beforehand though. Watched it sober on tv though at least once (they repeat the games all the time here - its brilliant). He defended well, fluffed a couple of passes and lost the ball occassionally but meh. The goals didnt come from him getting beaten. He also didnt get a red card and concede free kicks on the edge of the box. I think he must have shagged robman75's mrs or something

yeah be ballsed up - but there was no man dropping off to give him an option, and there couldnt have been one down the line either. Also need to look at Dura who took out Zullo - and then the wall who ducked their heads. Anyway move on.

I'm with EG - robman you are getting a little side tracked - I may not no as much as a lot of people on here. I do know that neither of Durante's fouls were split second decisions.....both times he had a good 10 metres to decide ball or player?!? both time he chose to let the ball go thru and nial the player!

Durante could, and should, have done a lot better in both free-kick situations. He got squared up badly for the 1st one and sold down the river by Lochhead for the 2nd one, but a player of his ability and experience should have handled it better. IMO.

Lochhead has been great for us since Day 1. Not the flashest but one of the most consistent. Never seems to have a bad game, and I don't think he had a bad game against Queensland. He f**ked up bigtime. We know it and so does he. Nothing we can do about it now, it's over. Let's move on fellas.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I probably would also have ducked my head from Oar's free kick, it was a belter. All these people out there critisizing Lochy should think, he's only human he made a silly split second decision, it happens to all of us. Just unlucky it ended up leading to the decisive goal, at least he didn't head the ball into his own net from point blank range. :)
