Not fully happy with that line-up but a step in the right direction.  I hope Greenie doesn't get left up the front by himself.

Will it be Hearfield RB and Manny midfield or vice versa?

Shows what a disaster the close season was for signings..World Cup was a distraction from the Nix perspective.

We did well with the Greenie Ifil combo so maybe it wil work..Pav on ahead of Big Mac plse.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Hearfield has never played CM so I assume Manny will play the anchoring DM role while Ward/Brown will be more attacking

Having Pav and Mac on the bench really does seem pointlessvaleo2010-09-11 18:56:17

Of course. I was thinking of Hearfield's appearances on the right side of midfield but Leo will be out there.

I feel sorry for Paston. Bad luck for him and he may not get that jersey back for a long time.

Nice direct start by Iffy

Yeah but Paston is injured. You can't pick an injured keeper. Unfortunate but if he has the class and the form, he'll be back quickly. The rest will probably do him good before the Honduras/Paraguay game

Greenie had to give Hearfield an option there

Hearfield seems to long ball the most out of anyone - working alright so far tho

Loving the starting line up! Predicting 3-0 to us.

With the additions of North, Ward and Vukovic, we have such an incredible squad. The latter being two of my favourite players in the A-League, and North signing from my second favourite club.

Paul ifil always looks a bit gumby to me but so often when he is on the ball he does something magic.

Agree, hopefully he can keep it up.

He really needs to work on his crossing though!aitkenmike2010-09-11 19:34:03

Poor play by Hearfield

Then he gives a hospital pass away that results in a shot

We look good going forward and are committing numbers. Just a bit worried we forget to track back and are caught on the hop.

Sydney don't look that good do they..

Our delivery is really poor - we are getting into good positions but have not much idea what to do with it. Greenie completely isolated.

now Vukovic has one of his normal brain fades by rushing out - he does that so often.

That was easy defending, everyone doing their job, good shape, nice defensive discipline.

Interesting fact with respect to a drop ball, there is no limit to the numbers of players contesting a drop ball. Most players and coaches dont know that

Ward is looking good in the middle of the park at the moment - he is often looking to receive the ball to feet, or at least provide an option.

Given the frequency of long balls forward from hearfield its pretty clear those are the instructions goven to him
