Exposito.

I see that one of Auckland's latino's...Andreu Guerao has gone to play pro football in Europe( 1st Div Georgian side) Georgia is C Div in Europe so its not a high level.
Guero has an interesting pedigree. 41  games for Sporting Gijon including a handful when they were in Div 1 Spain, then 34 games for Warsaw in Polish Div 1. So he has had a background at a higher level than A-League.
I am not saying we should have signed him for the Nix coz it wouldn't/could'nt happen. But did anyone see and rate him when he played in the Premiership? You would think he might be better than our current holding DM's.

Thought he was class at ASB Championship level, always seemed to have a lot of time when on the ball. A little light weight thou, those Aussie Pitbulls would give him a hard time.
I think UK Kiwi is pretty much on the nose. He has got skill. It looked like he found it too easy at time and made a couple of mistakes because of complacency but he would be too light for the physicality of the A League. No problems if you are light but then you have to have pace to burn the defenders coming to smash you (ala Kosta and Marco)

I wouldn't classify him as a holding/defensive midfielder i.e. ball winner. More of a deep sitting distributer like the Korea guy they had Ki-hung Lee and what Elliott did for us at the Phoenix

with the kruse idea, yea i remember him passing us off for melbs but now he cant return there, theyve got a ton of attacking players, hes burnt his bridges with the roar, and the guy playd a handful of games for the socceroos. add that to the fact that at the mo he wont be playing for his country coz he isnt playing at all! and will be pretty desperate to keep his gold shirt. that is why we should get a hold of him. he still is a Twit, but what if he became our Twit.

just a thought....

Please apply for the role Steve-O.

You're insight is wasted here on the forums!

Wouldn't mind if he left Foruna alone, just not to come to the Nix
You know we belong together...

Kruse scoring a last minute winning goal for the nix would give me such confusing feelings that I think my head would explode.

Allegedly

Pires is looking for a club in asia. Therefore, I am speculating that Pires is going to sign for the Phoenix in this transfer window.

Wooden spoon > Archie Thompson > Jacob Burns > Kruse > Chris Payne

If anyone could make Pav look like a little methed-up Henry, Pires could.
Pity Morgan and co aren't bat-sh*t crazy.

kruse isnt doing well in german, bench riding, no real game time, no goals. but his club might get promoted to bundesliga next season so i would guess hes trying to stay around for that, doesnt mean a loan out wouldnt hurt.

pires: no more old players in our team please

A promotion would only hurt his chances at first team football you would think.

It seems like everyone is going to China these days ..either that or to the Arab United Emirates or Qatar.

Financially, much more appealing than Australia.

But wasn't he linked to Gold Coast a year or two ago?

Don't knock the 1970s - some of the coolest people around were born back then.

I remember a mate saying the same thing about Russia a few years back when some aging players went there. If Smeltz's wife is anything to go by China is not the happening place compared to the glitter strip and nib stadium.

Corinthians just signed a Chinese player believe it or not. It seems to be more of a marketing plan...

Yeah I swear Sir Alex signed Park Ji Sung to please the board by raking in shirt sales in Korea, then he thought sh*t this guy can play lol.

Both would be out of our league, but Kris Boyd and Derek Riordan are unattached at the moment. Also I suggested Marcus Bent before the season started, seems he ended up in Indonesia of all places.

Really interesting. For Ricki to allow that at this stage of the season there must be somone lined up. He covvers a youth spot and the only spare center back.

Havnt seen anything official apart from comments on 442 = slightly unreliable

if he were to leave I guess we could just pick up someone from TW like Branch, Musa, Rowe or even just sign a Zucco or Lucas if we really needed an u18. Or Rojas

I can only assume Leggy was being ironic with that list... and Clapton and Winwood came out of 60s bands rather than 70s bands.  If you want to claim them for the 70s they could be claimed for every decade since.
