Yeah it was never in doubt that he was good enough for the 2. Bundesliga, and that he'd be a good-to-great player for this level. Nuremberg horrifically misplayed him, didn't give a shark about him settling in, and didn't utilise any of his strengths. I expected a very productive season, but 1 goal and 4 assists in 4 games is an unreal start for the kid

Still the main thing is to be a reliable player across a whole season.
But he’s a player who needs to be involved IMO and definitely seems to be at the moment.
Happy (stoked) he’s got off to a good start, but do feel the tests are yet to come as someone said.
I’m also watching the goal celebrations to see how the team appreciate him and it seems like there is some work to do there too.

Starting (no surprise there) as Jahn Regensburg host Schalke 04.

Regensburg already 1-0 up in the first 15 minutes.

And another game where he contributes a goal or an assist. This time it's the former as he grabs his sides 4th. Regensburg romping to victory - 4-1 late in the piece.

4 wins from 4. Crazy stuff, especially considering the caliber (or former caliber) of some of their opponents.

All things boding well for Sarpreet!

So in the league, that's:

4 games
2 goals
3 assists (1st in league)
15 key passes (2nd in league)
15 tackle attempts (6th in league)
Best player in the league according to Whoscored (8.22), second best according to Sofascore (7.90)

First goal they have conceded all season.

Great! A goal against Schalke, could not be better.

Damn that’s impressive. Having not paid any attention over the years I still feel like Schalke are a champions league level team! Potentially no longer true lol, but still a great result.

Great to see him playing with confidence in a team that backs his abilities (although primarily playing left wing/wide left attacking mid). Seen the last 2 games now, he certainly doesn't stand out but does everything perfectly when needed.
He also seems to have bulked up and doesn't get pushed off the ball easily anymore.

Long way to go, but on this result JV look the real deal, re being a promotion contender. Lead the league by 2 points after 4 games (GD +11). Next a trip to St. Pauli (5th).

They are playing a 4-2-2-2, so it is probably more like a wide #10 à la Davila?

Listening to the Talking Fussball podcast and they had an item on Regensburg. One of the contributors noted that a great deal of the praise goes to Sarpreet's performances, noting "he's been at the pinpoint of most of their assists, just a wonderfully gifted player and has a crazy foot on him."

18 - 24 months.

That's great news for the NIX - less likely to leave for a free so hopefully will be sold on in the Jan window, if not at the end of the year where we (the NIX) can get a slice of the pie.

Wold love for him to make it at Bayern, but if not, I hope he goes for a pretty sum and the NIX do well out of it.

It’s smart business, no point losing him for free, I reckon he’ll be sold end of this season

How did we not hear about a contract extension with BM??? That should have been massive news, it's not like he was re-signed by a third division Spanish club!

We'd only know if Bayern or Singh said something publicly - not sure a player of Singh's role at Bayern would rate overly highly for a contract extension announcement.

Fair enough, but it might have been in his best interest to publicise the move. His agent could have picked up the phone and called AV or Rollo, that would have resulted in a nice little buzz. Anyway, glad he's doing well - may that long continue! A promotion to the Bundeliga would be amazing!

Starting as Jahn Regensburg (1st) visit St Pauli (7th). 37 cap Socceroo Jackson Irvine (previously with Hibs & Hull City), on the bench for St Pauli.

Another Kiwi playing tonight for a team currently top of the table. Singh lines up against his old club Nürnberg (7th), at home. Spicy.

Finished 2-2. Singh was subbed off when leading 2-1 at 75 mins, only for Nurnberg to equalise a few minutes later.

From the parts I saw Singh didn't do too much, other than one nice free kick. Seemed to be playing in quite a forward position on the left.

yeah, was almost functioning as a left striker at times which was strange. overall, a poor game from him - hardly ever got the ball, and my word, the boos from Nürnberg fans were immense every time he did.

Looked like it may have psyched him out a bit, he was noticeably a little flustered. He tried a few tricks and fancy moves to shut the crowd up, but due to Nürnberg’s extremely (probably illegally) physical playstyle he ended up on the floor more often than not. Rest of the team had similar issues, Nürnberg were playing rugby out there

82 mins in a 1-1 draw at Fortuna Düsseldorf (11th).

Jahn Regensburg stay top. They had a 2nd goal denied by VAR (handball).
Ao Tanaka who played for Japan U23 against the Olywhites in Tokyo QF, with 90 mins for Düsseldorf.

Nürnberg now 2nd, a point back. But tight at the top so early in the Liga 2 season.

Get's 87 minutes in a 3-2 victory over cellar dwellers Erzebirge Aue.

Looks like he was subbed off just before Erzebirge scored their 2nd, and at the time equalizing goal.

Late 3rd goal helps Jahn Regensburg back into top spot for the time being. With Paderborn being the only side that can overtake them this weekend.

A bit invisible the last few games. I've noticed Regsenberg are playing hoofball a lot, and I believe that's partly the reason. Aerial work is not Singhs strength.

Credited with the assist, but subbed off at 65 mins (score 1-0) as Jahn Regensburg (2nd) draw 1-1 at Paderborn (4th).

Jahn Regensburg equal on points with St Pauli (1st) but St Pauli have a game in hand. Top 4 teams currently only separated by 1 point.
