I think the outrage was at certain banners being banned.  Banners in general are fine as long as they don't ambush market or cover advertising.

So does Adelaide endorse Elastoplast?  Probably judging by the swathes of bandages over Owusu.

Bingo. As a defender I hate the most recent interpretation of the active rule, as you feel you still have to mark the 'inactive' offside player and it takes you out of the game. However, under the rule interpretation as it stands, Greenacre is definitely not 'active'.

If you see the replay, you will see that Greenacre makes a run towards the ball from an offside position. The moment he did that, he interfered with the play and was flagged for offside.
If he had not made the run towards the ball, he wouldn't have been flagged. As simple as that.

One of the balaclava wearing dudes was nabbed for biffing a flag stick, not a great look at all putting on a balaclava so you can abuse players and generally act like a knob, who the f&%k do they think they are trying to be? AS Roma Ultras FFS? Jeez how about growing up...

Hubminator, it was a young guy who biffed the flag and Marley and Red badge didn't see who it was. The 'balaclava wearing guy' was in fact nabbed for yelling (swearing) when there were kids were around, and was actually telling people not to throw bottles, which Marley and co recognised after when they spoke to him.

I would suggest he was jokingly wearing the balaclava as well.

Given that the lino saw it at full pace, I can understand where he was coming from, however I would suggest that the interefring rule is in force to stop these kind of instances from occuring where a player is offside but not intefering.

Brownie shoudl have killed it off after 10 though....

Where was this? The bottle thrower got nabbed a few down from row C in aisle 22, near the Yellow Fury. I saw someone waving a bamboo cane and wondered  how long it would be before he was asked to hand it over. Never thought he'd be stupid enough to throw it.

yea it is definitely frustrating if the bottle throwing, etc that marred some parts of the first season starts up again. I know Tony P and co said that it had to go, so disappointing to see it start again. Whoever threw the cane is a f*&$ing idiot, I think we can all agree on that.

So a great start for the Yellow Fury then! Hurrah!   I guess that's what happens when you wear scarves/balaclavas and have one of the big boys from the backroom staff call you a "firm".

I think dressing like Football thugs will not make you many friends Yellow Fury and I'm not surprise one of you got nabbed, wether innocent or not.

Stick to writing cool chants not dressing like hooligans.

Your well reasoned advice has been taken onboard, but asking the fury to solely engage in creating witty and humorous chants is liking asking Anton Ferdinand just to be a slightly awkward centre back, and asking him to forget about the new baby blue bentley parked in his car park, filled to the brim with glorious (if not brainless) women, bathing themselves in 1000 pound champagne; sometimes the good has to go with the bad.

However, the fury is a good old-fashioned participatory democracy, and thus it shall be put to the power of the ballot.

Just to reiterate for anyone who has not read above: None of the infamous yellow fury aka the yellow furbies aka the yellow fairies WAS INVOLVED IN THROWING BOTTLES, BAMBOO CANES, FLAG POLES, etc and in fact all were telling the young d$%kheads to stop.

May have been abusing referee and lino however...

That was not the "start" as you put it, has been a fixture in the yellow fever since season one

Being drunk is one thing but being drunk AND nasty is another. We don't need/want nasty drunks. My friends and I  had some hassle with one on Friday night. He ended up arrested. The big frustration was that he was with about eight "mates". They did nothing to rein him in.
I don't know about others but I bought a season ticket to watch football and not be subjected to some drunk's antics and threats.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

mate, if you are insinuating that the infamous furbies (which since your post is written below mine, I would suggest you are) are nasty, etc,  then that is ridiculous and doesn't even warrent an answer. Not sure who this arrested person was, but you should probably have a go at him cause it is no one I knowWe should find these threatening drunks and get rid of them.

People who drink, cheer, are passionate and keen on football, who get into games cause they love it and who follow the a-league (aka the whole fever zone), should be applauded and I think the fever zone provides the Phoenix with a pretty good showing week in week out. Look forward to having a beer at the next game and helping you track down these nasty drunks.

So it's taken 3 seasons to get noticed then? Good stuff

It's all cool, but maybe dress less threatening next time and try not to wind Marley up.

My apologies then for painting you lads in a bad light, maybe I've seen a few too many balaclava clad radicals do bad stuff if my time, hence my over- reaction, all for passion and vocal support, maybe if you had yellow pompoms on your balaclavas... :)

Can I suggest for the next home game, that we don't have different sections of the Zone trying to chant different things over the top of each other.

It doesn't really help the flow of things, confuses the casual crowd who try to follow along.

There were a number of times in the Friday night game where chants were started got out of sync, died off, then started up again.

Anyone else find it interesting yet amazingly refreshing that not one article I have read about Friday has mentioned the Bottle Throwing? I thought it would be splashed all over the show!

That Awusu or Owusu (The big black man) is very good, he could cause a few problems for A-League defenders this year me thinks! Even though Tiimbo did a pretty decent job marking him.
