Calling all fans in Japan, come down and support the mighty nix in Osaka

You're not the first fan to say this! A lot of fans mentioning there's a real lack of promo around the A-League/their club given the season starts next weekend. What is the league/clubs doing differently/less of this year compared to previous years that's causing this do you reckon?
There's be very little from the league let alone the NIx.
Queenslander 3x a year.

Granted, I'm a rusted on fan, and agree there's something wrong with the promo of the league. I note the A-Leagues facebook page has posted around 30 times since Wednesday with a range of content and reminders around the league starting.
Is the league/clubs relying too much on in-house marketing? Less billboards, broadcaster ads, radios etc. being involved then previously?
This high line we're playing, how high are we talking? From what I've read previously the line sits very high on the pitch, and the press is very aggressive. Admittedly the sample size is quite small given its only preseason, but im curious how it looks and how it comes across to those watching (ie does it look quite fraught or is it all quite well managed with everyone seemingly knows their roles well?)
The results from both last weekend and today are quite encouraging to be honest. But I know results dont necessarily tell the whole story.
And secondary question I suppose was did our press wane as the game went on? I'm guessing at this stage the general fitness looked ok/good with no injury niggles (aside from those who didnt take part).
Final question (😅) How did Manjrekar James look? By all accounts he's a bit of a beast - Big, quick and commanding. Feel like he's going to be an important man for us if we're going to do well this season.
Wonder where Ishige was today.

The high line is very high, when we are in possession in or near the opposition box all defenders were easily past half way, and at times Oluwayemi was not far from the centre circle.
I noticed Rufer giving instructions a few times when in posession to other players as to where they should be for the press - Rufs and Chiefy were having a big discussion after the match (as well as a bit during it) and I expect Chiefy is using Rufer to act as his mouthpiece on the field to make sure the game plan is being followed (speculation of course but just based on the way it looked to me in the stand)
The high line generally felt well managed, especially as almost every time CCM made a break they were called offside, so they appeared well aware where the attackers were and where their fellow defenders were.
In saying that, a team with a better attack could probably get a bit of joy exploiting our high line, and if they do successfully beat the offside they will very quickly find themselves one on one with the keeper.
The Press definitely waned in the 2nd half, and we didn't spend as much time in the opposition half, which is why I think Chiefy said he wasn't too happy with that 2nd half performance. It was pretty hot out there today, which Chiefy did reference as possibly being a factor.
But he did also mention that he has noticed the press is causing teams to make subs very early in the 2nd half to try help them deal with it - which in turn means he has to make subs to get more fresh legs in the press.
Manjrekar James does look to be very commanding. It was good to see how confident and assured of his passes and touches he was.
There was only once in the game where he lunged in for a tackle and he completely missed the ball and man, leaving them with a lot of space to attack our goal.
He doesn't look like he will back down from confrontation, Hughes got annoyed at a Mariners player once in the 1st half and James was straight in there backing him up. He also fouled a player in the 2nd half, refused to move and just stood above looking down at him. That led to a bunch of pushing and shoving, which James refused to back down from - he ended up getting a yellow card from it - which I think he will pick up a few of this season.
Hopefully I've somewhat managed to answer your questions!

Brilliant summary that. Exactly what I was after.
If it was hot there today (it's spring!) then it will be interesting to see how we'll cope in the depths of an Australian summer using the same approach - To which I'd imagine there would be some tweaks to how we go about things.
As for Manjrekar, well thats my mother-fudgeen centreback! Ooowee.
I'm guessing this is about him, albeit maybe somewhat exaggerated from an attending CCM fan.

Great summary though. Very much appreciated. 👏

You have been absolutely excellent mate, thanks for all the coverage and updates today. :)

Not all of those U20s players are reserves candidates. Several of them have nailed down roles in the A-League squad, who had a 3-0 win away against Central Coast in their final friendly of preseason over the weekend, but there were four returnees who lined up at Fraser Park: Fergus Gillion, Gabe Sloane-Rodrigues, Nathan Walker, and Luke Supyk.
Looks scientifically sound. Not sure post-Heidelberg justified a 2 rating. A bit generous!
I know, I know, its serious!
The A-League Men's season has not started just yet, but Perth Glory have already copped a blow with Sam Sutton out for at least a month. Sutton has arguably been their best player in pre-season. Mark Birighitti no certainty to play this weekend either.https://t.co/gJ07YCInuy

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
Still awaiting his work visa.
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
Why have you said this? We're gonna lose now and it'll be all your fault
Hehe - idk man. They play a high press and AG is the type of dude who we've seen, is the drop deep and defend type of coach. Dk how they will marry a high press and deep block together. But if their mids are slow in transition to defense phases, they'll open up heaps of space in the mid, we can really kill them. Their preseason results against A league teams have been woeful. Perth just sucks.
