to be fair to Giancarlo, first season Chiefyball was NOTHING like Talayball. The defense was 3x better than Talay's side the year before. Goodness knows what happened after that Victory semifinal thoughJonty07
Let's face it. Chiefs inherited a side that was connected, close knit and in the same page based off Uffies hard work. He rode that coat tail and has been found out massively! The way we've started and the tactics straight up prove this. There's far better coaches in Southern, Northern and Central league. Badges aren't worth the paper they're printed on
Jeez Armiento ain't a baller is he? Sorry, but it's not a particularly tough job out there in an attacking sense. And he's not putting a shift in defensively.
I still reckon he got a good chance to get a yellow this game but I will take the goal. To think if that own goal had gone in from Sutton then we could've been 2-2
To me it looked like he didnt mean to touch and dribble it the way he did, he wasn't completely in control of it, but the run, pass and final finishing touch were things of beauty Rock Hopper
Damn that was a very clinical finish. Perfectly weighted final touch.
He's looked incredible to my eye. Hugely physical, great in the air, battles every 50/50 and technical too.
What a finish.
Rest of the team.. Well, they grew into it.
Josh is still a calamity in goal
Josh has wronged chiefy in a previous life and he's made it his life's mission to deploy a new tactic every season, specifically designed to exploit Josh's weaknesses and destroy his career
Classy classy goal by Eze Two excellent touches and a lovely dink finish. We actually looked like a proper football team for the last 15 mins. The first 30 mins was absolute dross. I have never seen a backline 45 metres from goal with the keeper standing in the goal. He has to sweep or its just suicide. So did Perth go in cruise mode at 0-2 or did we get over our nerves and finally play some football? I guess next half will tell us
I’m really liking what Eze is bringing, even before the goal. James also looks like he should be a good acquisition once the backline settles (and the tactics get sorted out).
Hopefully they replace Armiento at half time and bring on literally anyone else.
If they drop deeper much faster in transition and use the ‘high back line’ just once the midfield is set we could definitely come back into the game. But if we don’t adjust at half time we could be in for a really uncomfortable opener
yep Armiento has been terrible, give Edwards a runNixie’s Left Claw
