Bugger me this is average viewing so far. Eze about the only one trying to create something. Piper already on thin ice. Midfield getting suffocated. Still plenty of time to sort this out!
Compare this shark to Faghani. 6-7 players refereeing the game. Adelaide pausing the free kick after the whistle has gone to pace out the distance from the wall.
Been average half from James and lakh. Both playing as if defence is optional. Not helped by the pedestrian nature of our midfield but they need to do better
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

I think this is the problem - Faghani wasn't great in my opinion but what he did do was manage the game - almost all the other officials just let the game do it's thing and then step in (or let VAR step in) when it boils over.

He set a standard and Auckland adapted quickly and a game happened. Keevers isn’t in control, and he’s giving inconsistent fouls. And LKH is very lucky on DOGSO.
But you want a game in which the ref isn’t a factor and it’s the same for both sides.

yeah but he wasn't consistent within the game - I also think he had pre-determined that the first player to have a word was getting a card to set a standard - not a great way to approach things.
But back to topic - the referee is not the biggest problem today.
Kinda a sign of this team where a rookie keeper makes a difficult save and no one defender comes to congratulate him. Come on boys show some team spirit

This is the worst half I have seen us play this season. Worse defensively in the first half of the opening game but at least we had some attacking moments in that half
Edit: and i started typing this before i saw the second goal
Chief wins one game against an out of form Brisbane side and he pipes on about badly he was treated and he was right and everyone are just haters. This game is some of the worst shark I've ever seen.

Anything better than talk about this game! But it seemed fairly clear he warned Brook. And I want to watch players play football not referee. Look at the Spanish guy in the mids here. Constantly chatting.
that game was extremely anomalous. Nothing like our main game plan, even before the redNommag

Did he? He was probably high from the win. I'm not listening to his interviews anymore. It was good game resilience wise, but tactically it was very simple: Park the bus hit on the counter.
Piper off for Retre. Need more control in the midfield, move Nagasawa forward into the 10 role. Really need someone else at LWB but don’t rly have anyone else that can play there without Armiento and Edwards
Looks like Adelaide don't have issues with the wind. What a strike!
teams seem to play better into the wind (yesterday's game is another data point in favour of this), you can play balls in behind and it holds up whereas with the wind behind balls are always going away from you.

is it anomalous or did last week's game make you forget how difficult to watch most of our other games have been this season? Did you forget the victory game? Have you looked at the table? Anomalous is like the two games Auckland lost to Newcastle when they win most of the time.
Get LBS on to at least run at their defence and get it back pedaling. We need someone with a bit of youth and enthusiasm out there. Adelaide are playing well but we look so static and disinterested.
