Mr Beast Burger at A-FC Games https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360864913/burger-chain-created-worlds-largest-youtuber-appear-auckland-fc-games
"Our noisy neighbours, with their billionaire American owner, want to buy their way to an A-League title. They've used their millions to lure Alex Paulsen away from us and I'm sure it'll just be the start, but it takes much more than money to be successful" -- David Dome
just so bizarre that the jouno's ask our CEO about a competitors deal with a burger joint. Domey cant exactly tell them to fudge off but if I was him I'd be annoyed that it was even part of the conversation.
Beast Burgers, kinda like the other celebrity brand Wahlburgers, has struggled with quality and Mr Beast is suing the company that makes them for him. It’s mostly a ghost kitchen situation, with only one or two bricks and mortar operations.
Anyone watch his attempt to mainstream via Amazon? Richard Osman ripped into it as basically soulless.
I stopped watching his vids after the point where he had an assistant on and it was like watching a marionette dance for $30 or some such. There was no story, and it was subpar jackass. I mean he had me watching for a while in his pandemic times and he translated his videos, but he did start his career by counting to 100,000 or something. It’s not an achievement next to Homer or anything…
The high line was only an issue for the first 30 mins until Oluwayemi started sweeping properly. After that it was a massive asset (as the Chief explains in the clip)
The unexpected absence of Hughes was probs a factor in the initial messiness too https://t.co/LZdRm9NvgH
Just after the first Nix game i watched Barcelona play. I thought....the Nix are playing just like Barcelona. The setup was where the resemblence ended LOL. Good luck to Chiefy. Its a ballsy call to play like that. When it works it can be hugely entertaining. The success of the high line is all about timing and execution and you need quick defenders. Even Barcelona get caught out sometimes. Its going to be an interesting season
Very excited for this game. I like the fact that Brisbane are being billed as a team which won't back down and are not afraid of some tough challenges. I would love to see both teams get stuck in. Hopefully Brisbane get their first red card of the season and we go on to clean them up late in the game!!
I'm sure Brisbane will be a great test in general too, I've seen a lot of people putting them in the lower end of the 6 around 4th to 7th on ladder predictions. This game will go a long way to see where we measure up this year.
Absolutely fizzing! Can't wait for Sunday!
CCM fans said Manjrekar James almost caused a few fights in the friendly against them. With Brisbane bringing back the biff, he might be front and centre at a few of the more heated moments
Can confirm - he would not back down from the fights, ended up with a yellow.
I thought after that friendly that he will very likely sit out a game this season for yellow card accumulation

For me the biggest question of this season is, in case new tactics does NOT work, is Italiano able to adjust? Did he really learned from the mistakes last season? Or will he stubbornly play the same tactics and get backed up by the club? To my knowledge there are no real tangible season goals, like make the top six, so it will be easy to hold them accountable. OK, to be fair, he said he wants to win the league, but that's what they always say.
If it was me i wouldnt be telling anybody what goals they have. Seems they get slammed what ever they do. They either get accused of juts wanting mediocrity or aiming to high. Me im easily pleased and if they can consistently give us games with some of what they gave last week but take away the early goals and some of heart medication inducing moments i will be happy. Bring it on

Not really. You just accuse anyone who critisises the club at any point of being overly negative.
I think a public goal would be a positive thing after last season.
Really whats your issue with a fan sticking up for his club. I make no aplogies for calling out those who i think are being unfairly critical or negative about the club. Even better if if some of you dont like being called on it.
Are tickets still the same price online in the morning or do they hike up all the prices like they do on the gates? Taking my kids but waiting to see if we need to buy another.

Question good place to go in Napier to watch game tomorrow ?????
If you are there for the u19, I have had mixed results at the club rooms. Two years ago there was no one there, and then last year walked in for Auckland FC game it was packed and a sea of blue. Turns out Napier City Rivers had just streamed their national league game on the TV and were then continuing on watching the Auckland FC game. I don’t know if the NCR faithful realised one of the Auckland FC parents had to lean against a wall to watch their son play!
With no NCR national league to act as curtain raiser, I suspect heading into town is better bet, Pavilion maybe?

IMO the Nix should sign another CB. After Hughes and James, there are by my count 4 makeshift CBs, and Smith, who from what little I've seen looks to be slow and unsuited to a high press formation.

Slightly nervous for LKH to be starting again, but at least he's had a week to work on the partnership and communication with James, Sheridan& Oluwayemi, unlike last week where he was a late inclusion after Hughes injury + travelling back from Norway.
Absolutely imperative that Oluwayemi is sweeping from the get go this week. Brisbane will prove harder to haul in if we give them any freebies.
