Piper could be the natural heir to Chris Wood. Massive physical presence with a knack for scoring goals but doesn't really look like a footballer outside of that. That's pretty much exactly what Wood was starting out. Wasn't until relatively recently that Wood was recognised as anything other than a poacher.

Wood could always play. Have watched him since age 16/17. I think you're under stating the stages he has passed through to become an excellent Premier Leaague footballer.

We are terrible at ball retention. Like wtf are we doing
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

If he could control the ball, beat a man, pass accurately, he'd be NZ's answer to Roy Keane. And worth a bloody fortune!

And there's Kosta doing the same thing just now.

Didn't need to be offside there or hit the post...

We haven't looked great from corners today so it feels like no big surprise we would concede from one

Kurto number one and him number two for shot stopping? The best we’ve been this season is with him in goal, though Alby didn’t get a chance with a confident team in front.
His defense can’t be that confident in him with corners and crosses though. Langerak makes that look child’s play.
This reminds me a bit of Moss/Paston.
That turn around from the Ishige break to the goal though. 💔

For those who have sang Josh’s praises, you need to 👀 very very closely at that replay.
The guy is like Dracula, with his first instinct to step back - even as far as behind his goal line!!

I agree, a litany of errors for both goals

I mean the dude is famine and feast, sometimes in the same action. Weak at corners, often fighting himself with the yips or something.
But having had so few moments to feast on, I’m adding that Veilupilay save to the things I’ve enjoyed!

was it yopu who said it? i guess it doesnt matter because you've just said it anyway
josh has the cream, but not the cake.
he's one of many players that we have who is not up to standard
but he's the only one that who gets the doesn't "deserve to be a pro" level hate

I’m mean we’d held off so many attacks we were going to let one through eventually either from our error or their skill. At a 1 to 8 corner count or whatever I’m struggling to get mad at the defense. Wistful, you betcha!
