Jeez, I can't believe the stuff I am reading here. Suddenly everyone is piling on our guys saying how useless they are. In reality, the Jets are playing a surprisingly good game, and that is all. They are full of energy, are individually much faster players than us, they have reasonable skills, and some of them (Penha, and the Georgian guy) have really good skills. Their attack on the right hand side is very effective and they are simply better than us so far.
I was expecting them to slacken off after the first 15-20 minutes, but since they haven't till halftime, I expect the second half to be much of the same. That's not a reason to start dissing every and each of our players: we simply have not been in the contest yet.
If anything, I think we are missing our creative midfield tonight. Neither Ball nor Hooper have been able to get decent service yet, and I understand their frustration. There is a disconnect in the middle; while I am no expert and others can comment here, I have a feeling that it is the lack of connection between Lewis and Piscopo; they should be complementing each other but they seem to be competing for the same task in the middle of the field. It could be something that Uffie can sort out at half-time.
