Please please please No Mexican Waves.

Nixie’s Left Claw

50 tickets left that aren't away or lounge tickets.
That is absolutely epic. BUT ...

It's not enough to have lots of people there. We need a large, noisy, parochial crowd. We need people cheering the nix so loudly that their ears hurt. We need people letting the ref know when a 50/50 goes against us. We need the players to feel the energy and use it to get that extra 1% of performance.

The Melbourne crowd numbers were disappointing, but it's worth remembering that they have a much larger proportion that are active support than us, and they made themselves heard. We had a few hundred away fans and by goodness we shouted ourselves hoarse (my voice is still a bit squeaky), and their few hundred will do the same. We need our 30k to drown them out, and to give the team that lift that will get them over the line

You’ve just put the fear into me. Hadn’t even crossed my mind until then 😭

I’m keen for a Mexican wave when we’re 3-0 up on the 85th minute tbh.

I was there when Bertos scored that screamer against Perth in the pouring rain.

I’m amped for this game, it’s been such a long time coming.
That is one of my favourite goals of all time. Bertos took a longer starting run up than Richard Hadlee and smashed it! Amped!
Hadlee was a goalkeeper so he would've had a longer run-up to get there.

Apparently he had one game of rugby and ran the wrong way.

Also did you know Jacob Oram used to be a goal keeper?

Not widely known that.

I did know that! See how selling all the tickets takes us away from talking about PAX. Next someone will want to talk about the football!

But the toe nails on the other hand never grow at all!

Starting to get nervy about this Victory team. They don’t give much away either…

I’d love us to get two early goals and then another late on to seal it, without conceding anything.

I hope we do score maybe early second half and the Vuc get that feeling that they couldn't score against us at home and now they're going to... lose!

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

In another universe, the goddess luck would simply give us two Kosta's goals in the first half and a slow boring slowing down of the game, and parking the bus, till the final whistle around 95' minute when the ref runs out of excuses.
But in this universe our goddess luck is one of those early, pre-abrahamic, pitiless deities. So we already know she will take it all the way to the wire, because that is how our Nix goddess luck rolls.
We can do it.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Already amped for this and its not even 8am on Friday!
Thnankfully the rain came yesterday so the 'Canes and MP shouldn't damage the ground too much tonight.
17 long years with some very short footy seasons have passed and we have it all in our own control to enter the big dance!
Will be rushing straight home after the game to cheer on Uffie's lads so we can come back next week and watch our boys lift the trophy!

Didn't even think of that.  Heaven forbid the use of that black kit in any way tomorrow. Only time that should come out now is an away final and we have to use it.

To be fair, his bowling was great off of the long run up.  Even greater of the short run up.

We played in yellow last week - I thought that we switch each week unless we need to wear a specific away strip.

*know*

and if you ever watched any cricket in the earlt 2000's it was literally all the commentary team would talk about, especially if he made a great catch at point or gully.
no surprise its the first thing mentioned in his bio on Cricinfo
"It is hard to miss Jacob Oram on the pitch, and not just because of his 1.98m height. He has a high degree of agility in the field, where his skills were developed as a schoolboy representative soccer goalkeeper, and he complements that with solid medium-fast bowling skills and a naturally aggressive approach with the bat"

Do we have any word on how much the Phoenix will make from the extra seats they clawed back from stadium members? I think I heard somewhere that the APL doesn't get that money.

I am surprised they haven't got two merch stalls if i'm honest. They want to make it as easy as possible for the casuals to purchase merch. I remember that was the good thing about the WWC, the one on the concourse and then the shop inside the stadium, as well as the multiple little outlets. This is where the club will claw some $ back.

I've always been amazed that Rebecca Rolls could be top class as both a goalkeeper and a wicketkeeper since the appropriate body shape for those roles is very different

Na, they’re still just seats. The club does get the premium from hospitality seats.

We still get a share from the central disbursement (ie where all this revenue goes) including in the years where we don’t make the finals, so if nothing else we’re playing our part and then some.

While stoked with the sellout, it now leaves me to only think about the game. I’m already nervous. Being a nix fan hasn’t prepared me for this sort of tension.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Lol don't post on forums using your phones kids, Know and No are apparently autocorrectable.

But specifically I was talking about the obscure fact about Ben Old.   Probably should have slipped a /s in there haha.

Oh, the anticipation and tension is building for me here in Christchurch.....
Just heard this playing in a store, which connected with me.
I've modified some lyrics (in capitals):

"Seven Nation Army" - White Stripes
I'm gonna fight 'em off
A seven nation army couldn't hold me back
They're gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back
And I'm talkin' to myself at night
Because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette

And the message comin' from my eyes says, "Leave it alone"

Don't wanna hear about it
Every single one's got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell
AND IF VICTORY SCORE A GOAL
WE'LL SCORE TWO MORE
And that ain't what you want to hear
But that's what I'll do

And the feeling coming from my bones says, "HOME FINAL"

IT'S going to WELLINGTON
Far from OZ CLUB SUCCESS for evermore
I'm gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore
And I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding
Right before the Lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me
And I will think no more

And the stains comin' from my blood tell me, "ZAWADA SCORES"
