Fully aware its going to be hard for some but hoping people leave much of their bad feelings at home. Lets give Greenie and the lads some good positive support as they try and turn the season around.

Yeah, hope we can get a decent turnout from the fans to support Greenie, the fact we won’t have to watch anymore Chiefball will hopefully motivate, encourage those unsure about going.

Also, is Eze suspended? If so, he will be sorely missed on Sunday.

The continual blaming it all on Chief is wearing a little thin. When are players going to get the same level of blame. Because some of the errors they are making is just schoolboy stuff.

Yes Eze collected his fifth yellow for stretching on the sidelines.

AKH
Loke - Tuiloma - Hughes - LKH
Rufer
Nagasawa - Kartum
LBS - Piper - Armiento

McCarron, Payne, Smith, Sheridan, Roa Conchie, GSR, Flowerdew

Get Lee, Gardiner, Cassidy, Candy, Munro, Watson, Perniskie in around it. Even a kid like des Tombe, see what the kids can do

p.s. there's a kid in the academy, a LB, Arlie Loughnan. Just turned 17, reckon he looks unreal. Christchurch kid. Want him to get a first team training run or two, certainly has the frame and ability to keep up

What formation did Greenie use for the reserves? Not that he'd use the same for us as he might change it up to fit the squad better but we might see similar.

hard to know whether Greenie sticks with Italiano's plan or brings his own - if he brings his only has two trainings to get thigns set. I'd imagine it'll be small changes initially and then see what is needed.
Eze suspended will meana change up top at least

Hopefully a classic 4-4-1-1, with Kartum sitting in behind Piper. LBS (though may play Najarine for the experience) & Armiento on the wing.

Keep it simple, get in and around the box. Shoot, follow up. Just try.

Italiano had a lot of plans. So Greenie might as well bring his own.

Once top 6 is no longer a possibility for sure go all in, on the Weenix youngsters.
But for now I'd still have James, Oluwayemi, Najjarine in the match day squad.

No comparison playing SFC in season, verus Wrexham on tour very much in preseason in a nothing match for them.

Unpopular opinion but I think Josh O is still a better keeper than either AKH or McCarron. Oluwayemi has just had his head scrambled by Chiefy flip flopping setups. The highline setup was extreme. No way he makes that horrendous howler again. If Jonathan Gould was at the Nix, Josh might actually be a very decent ALM GK.

I agree. He is better than the other 2 on our books. The poor kid must have no confidence at this point though.

Its a nice gesture, but giving out 500 odd free tickets isn't going to fix anything if they lost 3-0.

Will be there as always - for me the measure of a true fan is turning up when things are diabolical.
Real Betis fans have a motto, 'Manque Pierda' - loosely translates to 'even more when we lose', essentially describing the depth of love and emotion for their club. It's always struck a chord with how I (and very clearly most of us on here) feel about the Nix. Any miserable bastard who willingly stood in the fever zone through the entire Kalezic season can understand Manque Pierda.

I think that now we have almost gotten over the blitz krieg of last Saturday on and off the field, and various questions raised, we can once again show up and cheer our team on. Nothing to lose and a win would give us all hope. I don't expect a miracle but I do expect us as fans to play our part in moving forward going from there. Chris Greenacre's Yellow Army??

Really looking forward to tuning in. Sorry, some don't like it here but I'm looking forward to seeing what a new coach can do with the players we've got. If they still make stupid individual errors from now then at least we know who to axe for next year.

I wonder if pierda can be replaced with 'mierda' - that probably sums up the Darije period more 🤔

Work across the road from the train station so just went over and got some free tickets. There was a queue but looked like they had plenty of tickets to hand out. I only took 2 but people around me asked for 6 and 8.

Jokes on the scalpers, I couldn't even give the tickets I brought for the double header away for free.

Looked like a few fans were there.

It will be a successful hour if they return to the office having handed out all the tickets If the weather on Sunday is like today they may get a decentish curious crowd in.

Same old 11 (or 12) for mine. Eze out, LBS in.
            Oluwayemi
    James Tuiloma Hughes
Loke Nagasawa Rufer Armiento
              LBS. Kartum
                   Piper
Bench
AKH LKH Najjarine Retre Payne (if fit) Sheridan Mileusnic.
Oluwayemi on form is by far the best keeper IMO, and has had several outstanding points-saving games. If he's up for it he starts.
Keep the back 5 to accommodate the best players and free up Armiento and Loke to get forward.

The bench is light on impact players, and there's a case for blooding some academy players at some point.

Just watched the interviews up on youtube with Greenie, Rufer and Hughes.

Great interviews. Lots of interesting stuff from Greenie. Main thing is I just like the sound of where he wants to take the playing group. Little tweaks to the playstyle but mainly just getting all the players competing heavily for positions is what we need. Sounds like training was extremely competitive and the lads have some fire under them. Good to hear.

Also, every time I see Hughes interviewed I'm glad. I think he is very articulate, he doesn't just give standard answers that you see from a lot of players. Great to listen to. After listening to him and seeing his onfield performances improve over the years I think he'll be one hell of a player in a year or two.

Greenie interviewed well. The bit that stood out to me was the discussion about Piper as a centre back. It would be interesting, but not surprising if the back pairing was piper and Hughes. Maybe not this week with eze out but the following weeks. James and tuiloma have been average to poor at best and Piper gives the game 300 percent, he also doesn't pair well upfront with eze.

CB is precisely where I've always thought Piper should be, and it's something of a shame that the work hasn't been put in since his arrival to groom him specifically for that role.

Not that he hasn't done some good stuff (up front especially) but he has all the attributes to be a very decent A League level defender in the mould of Pantazopoulas, Uskok, Kalltack etc. But you need time to get to grips with the discipline of defending centrally. It's a very different one from roving around up front or the wing and throwing your weight about. Hopefully Greenie is serious about bringing out his potential there. With the finals basically gone maybe now is a good time to give Piper some experience.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/360942709/what-new-wellington-phoenix-coach-told-goalkeeper-josh-oluwayemi-after-viral-own-goal

Corban Piper and Nikola Mileusnic loom as the leading contenders to fill Eze’s void on Sunday, though some of the club’s younger players may also view the coaching change as an opportunity, particularly given Greenacre’s long tenure with the reserves.

“I hope they do but this isn’t academy football, it’s the cut throat industry we’re all in,” he said.

“I said to them if they perform better than the senior players I’ll play them. Previously, I told Libby [Cacace] and Sarpreet [Singh] ‘you’re going to play for the rest of the season, go and smash it’, so I have no problem playing young players but they have to prove they’re ready to do it.”
