I don't mind it, it's better than I thought it'd be. I would prefer yellow/black stripes (or halves, like Blackburn and Feyenoord), but that won't happen until Reebok ceases to be the official kit supplier to the A-league.
The reason we don't have yellow shirts as either home or away kits is because of the Central Coast Mariners. We couldn't get the yellow as home shirts because the A-league does not want two yellow teams in an 8-team competition, and we can't have it as an away shirt since then it would clash with Central Coast when we play them in Gosford. The Phoenix have incorporated as much yellow as they could on the shirts, but the decision ultimately rested with the A-league.
very cool strip

Yes, Melbourne likes to be different. They also have a different style with their V.
Obviously the Reebok template is restrictive enough to prevent stripes but not restrictive enough to prevent a great big rugby league-style V across the chest! Apparently it is a Victorian sporting tradition but still... give us a break Reebok!
How about a YF shirt in black and yellow halves? Maybe with a black "Y" on the yellow half and a yellow "F" on the black half and "Who are ya?" and "www.yellowfever.co.nz" on the back?
Remember yellow and black IS wellington colours....
I think the current home strip is great
You
can't make a bold claim like that without citing sources!pink has a calming influence...we should wear all pink to unmotivate the opposition
Who needs shirts anyway?
flesh is mostly pink (if you select the correct players...)

I recall at the time over here, the J-league was being talked about as the 'model' on which the A-league was based, and the impression was that related to more than just the name of said league.
But being unfamiliar with the J-league, aside from seeing a couple of their teams on telly in the ACL, not at all sure of the specifics.

i took note at the time as my team was playing in black...
wherever it was, can't find it now. can find the paper on red and blue colours though...interesting...ish....

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

And still no Nix shirts in Qld!!!!! lol
Surge!
Combining the two elements in the first post - referees being influenced and black seen as aggressive - suggests that wearing black is going to draw us harsher treatments from the refs!
Thankfully it's not working for Adelaide... :-)
they must be doing something right or Pompey wudda dropped them ASAP.
Besides, it would be good to support a 'local' company, could also end up helping out NZF (remember CCC doesnt do much in NZ rugby so could be a chance for priority to football)

and this one for Mossy:

Queenslander 3x a year.
But it would clash with Central Coast when we play them away in Gosford, that's why we don't have yellow away kits.
surely if we had enough black in the away strip it wouldn't clash with the CCM team's home colours.

But the A-league insists on teams wearing light-coloured shirts when playing away from home (all teams in fact wear white away shirts other than Melbourne). So you couldn't have a lot of black in there. Secondly, CCM's home kit of yellow/navy blue would still clash pretty badly.
a combination of pink and red, with bits of yellow would be scientifically perfect
but would look ugly as hell
PS Only Serie A's Palermo could pull off wearing pink IMHO.
