Next A-Leagues All Access episode will be Grace Maher from Canberra! Nice to see they remembered that A-League Women exists.

Not so nice that it now means every team has been covered except for us... even though Canberra, CCM, Macarthur only have a team in one of the two comps. Hmm.

Sokkah Twitter is all like SYDNEY CONSPIRACY. What do you think - is this on Canberra, or on the refs for letting it happen?

You'd think we'd be one of the first teams they'd be looking at - coming home, rebuilding roots after two years on the road, adjustments to being at home, new facilities.  A lot of stories to be told here.

bit of both really, the club should be aware of who is eliible to be on the field, but also the 4th official is respnsible for checking team sheets etc so should have stopped the attempt to make the sub.

Referee and assistants are not responsible for whether the player is eligible, or even is signed to that club. They only need to verify the team sheet is correctly filled out. Up to the club to ensure player is eligible to play and able to verify that to the league authorities if a protest is lodged.
Except in this case the pkayer eligible. The issue was rules say a team is permitted to make up to 5 substitutions in up to 3 stoppages in play. They made a 4th substitution in a fourth stoppage.
I reckon that should be on the match officials. Their job is to regulate the game on match day.

Only seen it once before; in a Kate Sheppard cup match between NP Rangers and Massey, Rangers something like 9 nil up with around 5 minutes to go decided to give their reserve GK a run. She never even touched the ball.
Massey appealed and were awarded the points. I don’t rightly recall whether it was an extra stoppage, or they used a 4th sub and were only allowed 3.(pre-2020), but similar issue.
At amateur level. I thought it was poor form of Massey to protest it, especially given the circumstances, 9-0 down and all.
But then, I thought it was poor form a couple years back when Seatoun, 5-0 up, gave a talented young player a 15 minute run out, and their opposition lodged a protest for the points.
And when a club protested last year that LHFC played a couple of kids thinking their WPX dispensations carried across.
Some of these ’winners’ must feel so proud.

WTF Sky?

Do you honestly think the few people that may watch it makes it worth it to Sky? I mean other men's games don't rate great what do you think women's games do?

It’s the biggest game of the round and they’ve played all the other meaningless games?

Well in that case I have no idea.

Reminds me of how bad the ferns bottled it at home as we would have seen the same here if we could just score goals 🤦‍♂️

Respect ever team but fear no one.
I think some of our players still hold a bit of fear when it comes to playing against the bigger teams especially with some Matilda star players. Hope we can be more fearless next season.

Amazing she stayed in the ALW as long as she did really

Get the feeling that the ALW is gonna be lacking a lot of star power next season. It will certainly drag the top couple teams back into the pack.

Hopefully twilight will mean at least 7pm in Sydney to give the best chance for crowds to get there after work etc

I'd interpret twilight as meaning that it will finish at least 30 minutes before the night game kicks-off.  So I'd say twlight=5pm (which also equals 7pm on NZ TV)

Yeah true, they wouldn't start the night game at 9:30 at night, that'd be too late.

I think I was more just hoping it would be the time I wanted it to be rather than an actual practical time for the first match in a double header

Despite all the talk of ALW budgets being cut, there are some really interesting looking visa players popping up. Roar announced this one today

Looks like flyers handed out in Perth have accidentally given away Michelle Heyman signing for West Ham

Flyers had a QR code to win a West Ham shirt, scanning the code took people to a page showing Heyman in this season's West Ham shirt

Michelle Heyman has signed for Canberra United again. Her move to West Ham broke down due to them only offering a contract until December and then she wouldn't be able to sign in Australia for the rest of the season
