It's becoming clear what positions we need to target for our final 3 roster spots. Would love to see Hassett return instead of getting a reserve LB as VDM is more than capable of covering there should we need it.

- Goal Keeper
- Number 9
- Left Back / Holding Midfielder (Hassett)

Good Shout.
As for final 3 spots.
Hoping for Longo. As could do with her leadership qualities in this team. Hassett I'd say is in need of a break, after back to back to back seasons here and Iceland.
Striker. I think Kelli Brown would be a good option. Is banging in the goals right now, But is also a tall player and has shown good skills holding up the ball and distributing at NPL level. Which would complement the speedy forwards we have already signed.
Goalkeeper.  Still think this could well be a visa signing. Someone good in the air. We conceded a lot last year from set piece and crosses. Would be tough on Edwards, but she is still very young and at the very least needs competition to keep her striving to get better.

Maybe we are going to play 3-5-2

Speckmaier - Main
Foster - Wis- Breslin- Knott- Davidson
VDM-Taylor-Barry
Alfeld?

Or Longo for Knott.

There is no ALW Bulls team though. Alot of her team mates play for WSW. But they just signed Milly Clegg. So probably unlikely they also sign Brown. But I'm sure Brown will have plenty of A league clubs making enquires after all the goals she's been banging in

Kelli is with the Macarthur Rams, they’re an amateur team that aren’t related to the MacArthur Bulls.

If I was signing a striker it would be Brown well ahead of Clegg.
Clegg may well eventually be a better striker but years away still.

More interested in watching the Women's team this coming season than the Men's for the first time. The men's team has a feel of 'meh' about it...

To be honest I'm more excited to see what the women's team does this year too.

Some really promising signings.

Would be funny as shark if they won he league this year after the rough last couple of years.

I'm pretty damn excited for both. The Wahinix are set to have their best season to date and while the men may struggle, watching our academy products develop is exciting in and of itself.

Very fair.  I'm always excited for the Nix season to start but this Women's team has me buzzing more.

Trina Davis appears to be back at home and there's still no word on the outcome of her trial. Any insider knowledge on that one?

Anyone know why the club has removed all mentions of Macey Fraser's signing on their Instagram page? Noticed that it is still up on Facebook so I might be reading into something which isn't anything.

She's also following NZCIS and the aleague on Instagram. Looks to be packing as well.

I assume she will be first choice right? I was hoping to see Bri get another season.

She’s 5’10 so will add some much needed comfort from the set piece.
Bri looking like a backup.

Coming back after a serious car accident/injuries. So will no doubt need to prove herself first. But will also have huge desire to perform and get her career back on track. But that's what we need two GK's keen to prove themselves.

She has had long term injury issues coming from a life-threatening car crash (broke her neck). Not sure if she has played any footy for Liverpool since but I understand she didn't train for many months. Then was released because they didn't think she could play at that level.

Hopefully the club can help her recovery and get her on the pitch for us and put her career back together again. But it does mean that it's not a guarantee Bri will be sitting on the pine all season.

I'm liking the look of the squad now!
Thought Brown would be picked up in Oz,so it's great to see her at the Nix.

Wilkinson or Bowen. But more likely Wilkinson. I think MC is a good fit for her.

Rylee Foster arriving in Wellington on Sunday with a view to sign if all goes well.
A very experienced player at a high level and would be a great mentor to Brianna. Terrible accident she had a couple of years ago, hopefully she can restart her career again

It would be a very cool story if it works out well.
Temple also said this about the last few signings.
Temple said he was targeting two more signings; an import goalkeeper and an “x-factor” player from either New Zealand or Australia, to complete the squad.

X-factor player....Yes please.

Also regarding build-up. Good stuff.
Temple said the Phoenix had arranged two friendly hit-outs against Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets in Australia in order to better prepare the team for the upcoming campaign.

Done a bit of digging, reckon she's on flight QR010 from London to Doha, then QR920 to Auckland. Lands at 2:45 in the morning NZ time.

8 games are TBC atm. Western, Glory, Victory, CCM, Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney & WSW.

The Glory game is the same day as a TBC ALM fixture, so that will be Auckland you would expect. Sydney is 17th March & the ALM side has a TBC game on the 16th March. So that is probably the other one.

Qatar fly to Edinburgh from Doha so given two boarding passes visible, my detective work suggests EDI-DOH-AKL.  In any event good test for her injuries and wether she can tolerate crossing the Tasman in an airplane seat every two weeks.

What is Candy and Vosper and Rolston up to? I have seen Pritchard and Lancaster playing state league. But what about those 3 players?
And has Alfeld had he surgery? Or is it still to be done.
I kinda assume that we will have Longo join us soon. Seems like a good fit for everyone- maybe we are waiting to see how her fitness and knee is on the Ferns tour?
