Algeria were in Mexico in 1986.

That was Morocco, beat Scotland 3-0.

Coincidentally, Morocco was also in Mexico in 1986 together with Algeria.

Ah yes of course, Haji dammit,.....

Once and for all........AWAY GOALS DO NOT COUNT DOUBLE IN EXTRA TIME.

Confirmed by FIFA and NZF.

If it's 0-0 at full-time and 1-1, 2-2 etc after extra-time, it's penalties.

I hope and pray we don't try to go for 0-0 and ET. Win in 90 has to be first and only option.....doesn't it????

So when would be a good time for Ricki to use his "power play" option?

Goals outside the Box count as Two?

All Aboard the Phoenix/ All Whites Bandwagon!!

So, would it be safe to say that this is the most important football match in N.Z. ever?
Any other contenders?

Well possibly the 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia back in 1981. I think it was 2-1 to Saudi with a few minutes to go when we equalized. If we hadnt got that equalizer we would have been out.

I think this is probably the most important in NZ though.

Are we looking at a full house in Welly?

I would say this is the most important  sport event for any New Zealand team, ever.

The 2-2 draw against Saudi was in Auckland.

How many tickets have been sold now, 25 thousand????

Quite interesting.. Do we play for a win in the 90 mins? or play for extra time and then go all out?

What would you do? Play for the win in 90 mins and chance conceeding that away goal.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

You have to play for the win. You cannot take the biggest gamble in NZ Football history, and try and play for a 0-0 draw at home, in the 2nd leg of a World Cup qualifier.

If they try to play for a draw, it won't be Sack Ricki, it will be Hang Ricki!

Same goes for Smeltz if we are being honest.

Three for me, and two for them.

Ha, except when he has returned to full form, atones for his sins and comes back and does us a favour.

Interesting view of the second leg from Soccernet's Asian correspondent (whose name sounds suspiciously German).

Feel free to spam his Soccernet inbox.

I don't think he says much wrong there.  He's not slagging us just saying what is in it for Bahrain and why they may succeed.

Certainly seen far more ridiculous articles (mainly from Aus).

I didn't say he said anything wrong.

But he pretty much invited spams from NZers, so thought we may as well take up the invitation.

Four Phoenix games and a couple of TeeDubs ones before then.  Spread the nerves.

I hope the Phoenix start using the AWs guys more in their marketing, "All Whites star Leo Bertos etc..." has a good ring to it.  The All Whites are a strong brand right at this moment, and it might not last long

Normo's coming home
