Pretty sure they do. I imagine this one will move us up a bit if it counts.

As I mentioned earlier, this game was worth a nice 500 or so points

Friendlies hold far less sway than do games in actual tournaments, though, for obvious reasons.  Very happy with that.  Should have been 2-0.  Brockie fell asleep.  Boy that guy is slow - I realise he's coming back from a nasty fracture but still.  Thought Zigic had scored when they crossed in from the side and he met it.  Was dribbling so slowly then Paston grabbed it.  Very happy with that victory.  Second ever in Europe.

Lochhead had a few bad patches.

Was it just my TV or was the camera work the most shoddy you'll ever see in your life.  Half the time I couldn't see the ball.  Terrible stuff.

f**k! I got up at 6am and although the sky guide was saying that the game was being played, they were actually playing Roland Garros tennis.
This time they really f**ked me off! I can understand having a crap selection of sports etc, but to say that you're playing a game and then playing something else, that's too far.

Add insult to injury you missed the greatest NZ victory (besides Bahrain) in at least a decade.

Ranking points = 100(result x status x opposition strength x regional strength)

Result - Win = 3

Status Friendly = 1

Strength Serbia, 15th = (200 -15)/100 = 1.85

Regional Strength Europe 1, Oceania 0.85 = (1 + 0.85)/2 = 0.925

100(3 x 1 x 1.85 x.925) = 513.4

I sent them this:
dear Sky,
why did you sky guide say that you will be playing a replay of the Serbia vs New Zealand (football) game at 6am for Sunday 30/05 and instead when I woke up at dawn and turned to Sky Sport 2 you were playing Roland Garros Tennis?
That's a bit poor, isn't it? I'm sure you wouldn't like me to "say" that I am going to pay my subscription on time and then "not pay it" and instead make up some sad excuse about it.

Something to think about I guess

A disgruntled viewer

---------------------------------------------------------
I was actually up at 2 am with wisdom teeth pain and decided that maybe, if I could get a couple of hours sleep, then I should. I reassured myself "don't worry - they'll be replaying it at 6am".
So now I'm stuck with a sore tooth, no game, sh*t weather, didn't play my club game on sat and I am this close from becoming suicidal/murderous.

serbia without dejan stankovic (inter milano) branislav ivanovic (chelsea), milan jovanovic (liverpool) and milos krasic (cska moscow), all normal starters
missing their best pace, skill and experience in midfield

I think in the WC proper with best starting sides and the world cup to play for we'll give up more goals - quick players getting in behind the back three

but still a great result, guys are doing the business and rickis got them organised and calm

loving the way we are playing as positive as we can and creating more than a few chances

get a goal up against our lesser pool opponents and we'll be a fair chance to pinch a WC win (or two) lol

The game got a few mentions on German telly during Germany (3-0) over Hungary. Then they showed highlights, the German lady presenting, smirked, quoting the club of each player who missed or was blocked. Then she said, I hope we can do better than that. Subotnic did know what yo say in the interview.

There was only one nasty incident when Serb and Kiwi fans were having photos together and one very drunk Serb ripped the NZ flag away and threw it on the road.
Far out how many flares went on the pitch. I stopped counting at 10. Not sure what they showed on tv but the riot police were gearing up to step in when the Serb captain took the microphone.

New Zealand without Brown (wellington Phoenix) Michael McGlinchey (Central Coast Mariners) and Chris Killen (Boro)

missing their best attacking threat, scoring threat from the midfeild, skill

yeh we did good

wondering how much the travel, time differencel and heavy training took it's toll in the second half - got really deep

hopefully once they are a bit fresher they'll last beter and be able to play out of defense longer into the game - before no-one has the legs to get forward again

just good to keep it into perspective - faster teams than serbia put out today will be harder for them to handle, but like i say, the fantastic thing is they are good enough to grab goals now. three or four good chances in this one.   If we get a goal up, then  the kiwi team ethic, physicality and passion will fight like hell to hold a WC win.  lookin forward to that :)

It seems that the good times keep rolling for New Zealand football. With the ride we have had in the last year I wouldn't count out anything at the W/C. When you put that performance in the context of a 40-hr trip 5 days ago, it looks even better.
