The team is fine, all the kids(not boyd, fenton or overseas players) that are being spoken about went to camp and had their chance.

Watson, Biss, Gulley, Solomons and Rory Turner all had equal opportunity to show what they can do.

Some performed some didnt.

Its so like nzf to base selection around a 'camp' id like to think its based on form and on a season than said 'camp'

Well I think it's more the players on form go into the camp, along with the good players out of form. Then they compare all of the players and pick a team accordingly.

People have suggested Rory Turner and Ken Yamamoto as players that should be there, but who else? There must be guys in the US on scholarships that probably should be looked at.

They need Watson to mix it with the big island boys. He will need to be a platform to play off.

Watson might die after 2 minutes in the Island heat.

Curious to know how does a striker in the asbp league who has 3 yellow cards, 1 red and no goals get into the U20's as a striker?

Higham out!

Higham will play as a winger..

4-4-2

Permalink Permalink

How does a youth forward beat out an inform asb striker with 5 goals

Permalink Permalink

4-4-2 would explain a few things but really? 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 would make more sense

Maybe his attitude.. Who knows

 If 4-4-2

                     Basalaj

Tuiloma        Adams    Arms     Roux

Fenton       Edge        Biss        Howieson

            Boyd          Watson

Not many lefties in the team.. Is roux a left or right footer?

Ryan Thomas is MUCH better than Jesse Edge, I would probably play Howieson or Fenton in the middle and stick Ryan on the wing, it has him listed as a forward but he's mainly an attacking winger, huge talent.

Based on his recent form (and todays game), Watson doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the starting lineup.

He'll probably do just that - fenton in middle/thomas out wide

It's 'your'. And there were people at the game actually laughing out loud at his attempts at 'playing' football, so that kind of makes me wonder whose statements are actually invalid.

No, people who know their football and know that at least half of the Academy is absolute garbage in football terms. Which has been clearly reflected in the TeeDubs results over the season (as well as the Nix A results).

Some of us actually had this conversation at the game. Does scoring two goals mean a player has had a 'good' game, even if they were honking for the rest of the game? The answer was a resounding NO from all, based on what we had just seen Watson do.
