David Browne came on as a sub for Jong PEC Zwolle in 74th minute in a 5-0 loss against Jong Feyenoord. Wasn't mentioned in the match report.

Good game last night under the shiny, shiny lights at Papakura. Well, a good half anyway.

1 - 1 within ten minutes after Lea'alafa slid one home, shortly followed by a Stansfield goal for the BOP.

Tade put City in front with a blooter of a free kick that swerved through the croud and past Caunter in the BOP goal.

A few meaty challenges going on here and there, but as the cold came down it looked a lot scrappier and 'training game' like. Cam Lindsay scored late on to make it 3 - 1.

Impressed with WaiBOP's side - they're going to be a handful this season.

Is the new Spanish midfielder Mikel Alvaro looking good?

Has a decent pedigree with Numancia in the Spanish second tier and Dinamo Tblisi in Georgia.

Has a decent goal-scoring record for a midfielder too:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikel_%C3%81lvaro

34 goals in his last three seasons.

Can't wait for the ASB Premiership and the Club World Cup !!!

Tidy but nothing special imo.

Auckland City FC's squad has witnessed two departures with midfielders Mikel Alvaro and Sam Burfoot both seeking new challenges in Europe and Australia, repsectively.

Which club has Burfoot gone to?

Heard he went to a Div 2 Club in Melbourne.

Unless his eligibility has come through, he'll be an import over there in AU and it will affect his eligibility and the 5 year period here.

One would suggest he has it or has given up on it.

He must have it. Wynne was the only one left to get clearance and he's obviously got it now too.

Burfoot is playing for Eastern Lions in the NPL 1 - league below NPL.

For those interested in David Browne's overseas career he's resumed playing for Jong PEC Zwolle and was prominent in their 2-0 win over Jong Willem 11 on Monday night -

..."By David Brown Boris Rasevic gets a chance, but the striker is not on sharp sight ... after a beautiful combination with Jeroen Country, Brown cuts through the Tilburg defense but (keeper) Bertrams fingertips the ball ... "

Played the full 90.

- from PEC Zwolle website

Not if he already played for PNG youth team....

Your logic points to Krishna being a Kiwi

Don't have to be eligible to Play for NZ to be a "Kiwi" was my point. the thread is kiwis overseas not NZ eligible players overseas

Browne got a scholarship to attend St Peters in Auckland in 2011 (I think). Next year aged 16 (I think) he was playing for not only St Peters but also for ACFC in the ASB, and was in their squad for the Club World Cup.

NB He was already living in Auckland when he represented PNG at the Fifa Under-17 qualifiers in NZ in 2011.

So, for the sake of being argumentative, is Emiliano Tade a Kiwi? Is Angel Berlanga a Kiwi? Is Danny Robinson a Kiwi?

I'm just asking to clarify the sake of consistency here.

Well I for one don't say Browne's a Kiwi by nationality. But unlike Tade, Berlanga or Robinson - or Krishna - he attended school here and played for the school First X1, so he's more of a Kiwi than them in that way at least.
