ASB Premiership reports that 2500 people turned up for the game at Trafalger Park. Surely thats an NZFC record.
Auckland City and Waitak matches used to regularly attract crowds of over 2500.
Three for me, and two for them.

Nice weather, big crowd, good after match speech.
You're not related to that English Cricket commentator who used to talk about seagulls, are you.
It's ok, I looked the score up on the ASB Premiership website.
Cant 1 TW 2
HB 2 Man 1
Wait 0 Auck 1 5 mins to go.

I've got stacks of Photos from the last TeeDubs games against Otago (Home), YoungHeart (Away) and Canterbury (Away). I think the Otago ones are on Facebook, the rest still need sorting through. I'll stick links up when I'm done.

Team Wellington's next home game confirmed as follows:
Exodus TW v Waitakere
Saturday 22nd January 2011
3:30PM KICK OFF
NEWTOWN PARK
Really annoying (for once) that this is on the Saturday as I'll probably be at the cricket, and the races are also on! Typical that everything happening on the same day and the same time!

How come it is back at Newtown Park?

It was at Farrington because Newtown was out. Now Newtown is back but Farrington needs work before the winter season.

Oh ok, bit like English Park being out. However they haven't started yet...

Alec SOLOMONS and Matthew WILLIAMS

Matt Williams is the yank. I think I heard he's played for another franchise before TW. Good bloke.

Different Matt Williams to the ex-Auckland City and Melville stalwart Matt Williams I believe.

We went to all home games last year and all so far this year.DF park is a really nice place to watch footy. We sit as close to half way as we can , just above the TW dugout and next to the video camera man ( who BTW is a nice guy to chat to). We'll be going to Newtown as well but we MUCH prefer DF ; I think because of the closeness to the game.

However this weekend is supposed to be awful weather in which case you will LOVE the stand at Newtown.
Solomons plays for the yoof. Think he's an East Coast bays youngster. Tall, Musaeaque.

Yep , you're correct about the stand , HN. But , Jazz junior takes a ball to all games ( actually , he has a ball permenantly attached to his feet)and watches what the players do then goes and tries to emulate it.This of course means that Jazz senior has to help as well. So forecast for Saturday is " sh*t weather with a good chance of getting soaked".
Could be a good game. After a slowish start , TW is not only winning but playing well too.Question time;is Michael Eager underated or is it just me who thinks he's a particularly effective player?

Eager IS underated AND a particularly effective player.
From games I've seen Berlanga and Eager have been my standout and most influential players so far this season.

I'd say something nice about him but he's prone to being on here from time to time and he might see it.

Am gutted about the timing of this game. Will be the first home game I've missed this season and was looking forward to giving Dan Robinson heaps when they lose!

Been decided that we will attend Team Wellington instead of the cricket in support of fellow Scot John Sutherland who I believe to be starting today.
Plus the weather for cricket could be a bit dodgy...
Saying that, weather at the moment in Newtown is pretty decent.

TW down 2-1.
First half Waitakere were the better team. Imray made at least 4 great saves until Krishna got in behind the young defender (n.8) and slotted one home.
In the second half TW played better and were looking more likely to score. However, they were often open to counter attacks and Imray did quite well (again).
Around the middle of the 2nd half one of the W players went into a tackle trying to amputate his opponent's leg and got sent off. Real shame that G Barb decided to retaliate after the whistle had gone and got himself sent off too in the process.
Waitakere scored soon afterwards.
Then TW pulled one back with what I heard was a wonder strike. Still don't know who scored (Patrick?) as I was looking at my friend at the time. Shame.
Anyone knows how Akl went today?

Funny, we were sitting in line with the Waitak goal line when that shot came in.Hit the crossbar and bounced down.My initial thought was that it had crossed but how the hell the ref or lino could give it from where they were placed is beyond me. Wouldn't have surosrised me to see "no goal"
First 15 minutes it was all Waitak ; they could have gone 1-0 up after 90 secs but Imray ( not for the first time ) made a very very good stop. TW got into it a bit more after that and GW could have scored to level things .
I was a bit disappointed with the attack today.Sutherland offered nothing and I've been impressed with him all year.Tade might be better at this stage as an impact sub. GB was very good untill his brain explosion.
I do think they missd Eager in the midfield today. He did OK as CB but Whalen's absence did upset the balance. That new kid , Solomon , is certainly physically the goods but he's quite naive still .having said that , he did improve a lot as the game went on( nerves at the start?).
Still , nice day.

It wasn't facebook Chat it was Goodlechat with NZ Football, and in theory the sound was off, but it wasn't. Had to yank the laptop out in the end.
Danny Robinson said it was a goal. It came off the back frame apparently.

i thought that guy Soloman (assume it was him) whilst doing quite a few things wrong mainly due to the enthusiasm of youth (I'm assuming he is young) I think he has a solid game and might go far. No idea who he is or where he came from though

He's part of the Phoenix youth squad and has made NZ age group sides (I think). Plays for East COast bays (again i think).
He and Musa are a fair sized pair of bookends for a youth team.

I think John Sutherland was very good in the air, he won pretty much every aerial battle he got into. But maybe he was a bit below par. And he lost the ball for Waitakere's 2nd goal.
From what I gather Tade was playing out of position (i.e. as playmaker rather than out-and-out striker) but yeah he's done well off the bench too.
Solomon seemed very composed on the ball, perhaps lacking a bit of mongrel?
Marco's girl was so hot that I went home and told the missus, and I was all excited and then she got really upset for some reason.

What was George thinking?
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
