I think there's an anti-scalping law in place for these ones. They've had major problems in the past.TopLeft072011-03-08 22:48:22

I think I'll b lucky to make it to this one because of the "Fill the Basin" charity game at 4pm. Not bad timing for spectators but I'll have grass to tend to.

Lost 2-0. Sutherland sent off at about twenty and held on for dear life until the last ten.

2- 0 to Auckland.
First 20 minutes , all Auckland.Quicker , hungrier , sharper but wanted to walk the ball in.Sutherland was sent off in the first half for going for a 50:50 with the Auckland goalie.0-0 halftime
Second half- TW played much much better and had a couple of clear cut chances.More on field direction ,more passion.Auckland did score 2 well taken goals.
Pluses for TW: Tyler Lisette had the best game I've seen him play; calm ,good in the air and much better distribution.Whelan had a very strong game as well. Robson got more forward down the right- they look much better when they play with a bit of width.Ryan Cain as a second half sub was dynamic and injected a lot of pace and enthusiasm. He's been quiet lately but very good today.
Minuses- the ref was an absolute cock. Got some things right but the major things he screwed up.The 4th official spoke to Stu several times about what he was saying .But this was an important game , and I think the players deserved someone in charge who wasn't an absolute muppett.I've noticed this all year- a very average standard generally.Last week I also had a go at the reffing- today was much worse.
A fair result would have been 1-1 or 1-0to Auckland. Still , TW played a lot better today than last few weeks.

Why is it that every week we get a different Ref and a different set of interpretations. The Ref today was crap, for both teams. Auckland did better today because they milked him alll game, TW has too many stupid players who didn't get the messag.
Auckland could do no wrong today almost like the ref and lino's has a bet on.
We are going the same way as rugby

This is fact. Referee woeful.
Apparently he's the guy that did the Chatham Cup final last year. I don't remember him being that awful, but then I guess that game was so one sided it didn't matter too much.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Gilly have you had a chance/will you be putting a video highlights package of this TW v ACFC on this forum? I for one would definitely like to see it.
Perhaps you could dedicate TW's last home game video of the season to your very young helper who seemed to me doing all the heavy work lugging your gear.Spud2011-03-15 17:12:26

Bryan Rawiri from High View Sport does the video work for TW and edits the footage into the highlights package for us. Should be up today or tomorrow at the latest.
Would just like to publicly give a massive thanks to Bryan for the fantastic work he has done in putting the highlights packages together - anyone out there looking at video as an option for their teams or for kids wanting to compile a video football CV you should definitely have a chat to Bryan.

I think you'll find that ACFC can request the game be re-scheduled as they have 3 players called up for International duty as per FIFA regulations
I think this is correct??
Kind of makes you wonder why the semis were scheduled in a FIFA window in the 1st place!!!!
Although to be honest Auckland would still progress without those missing players

Is that a FIFA regulation or an FA regulation?
The trouble would be when they play it with O-League finals and pressure from winter clubs on returning players.

I know the Phoenix were missing more than 3 in the first season for qualifiers and the FFA weren't re-scheduling games because of it.

Here (Annexe 1, Articles 1-6) are the FIFA regulations relating to release of players for international duty.
No mention of the 'rule' JB mentioned.

So who's coming up for the game? I might turn up to cheer on the TW boys.
Its no longer a problem.

Stefan and big Duane. A few others still contemplating it.
I might make part, I'm up for a family wedding but have flights booked and family obligations.

AUCKLAND The kick-off time for this Sundays ASB Premiership semi-final 2nd leg between Auckland City and Team Wellington has been shifted to 3.30pm.
The Auckland City match with Team Wellington was originally scheduled for a 2pm kick-off.
NZF Operations Manager Glyn Taylor said the new kick-off time would allow all three players enough time to arrive back in the country for the crucial fixture.
This follows the selection of Jacob Spoonley in the revised All Whites squad to travel to China for a friendly international in Wuhan. Spoonley becomes the third Auckland City player to be called up to the All Whites alongside David Mulligan and Ivan Vicelich.

Ooh, I might be able to make this, assuming that my game at noon is south of the bridge.

So the 3 ACFC players are expected to play a semi final 2 hours after arriving back in the country on a long haul flight from China!!! absolutely unbelievable even the most ardent TW fan (if such a thing exists) would have to agree this is just plain ridiculous

See, you have a valid point then you waste your valid point with mindless pettiness.

If it was the case for us I would think its ridiculous.
But this is Football..
And Auckland City, not Team Wellington.
So my biased tells me that they need to Harden the f**k up.
even the most ardent TW fan (if such a thing exists)
Knob.
On a more pleasant note,my son ( age 9)had the opportunity to go to TW's practice last Thursday.Stu got him involved in the warm up drills with some close control work then he took a full part in the shooting practice at the end of the session.I didn't hear what was going on but he says the players were calling him " wee man" and were very encouraging. At the shooting drills , he scored 3 of his 4 shots ( more than some others
) and from the carpark the cheering from the players each time he scored was obvious. At the end of the session he walked off chatting to Phil Imray and looked like he was feeling 10 feet tall. He's still buzzing about it.I've let the TW chairman know how impressed I was at how well the players treated him.Young kids like this do look up to their sports heroes , for better or worse. For these guys , with a important semi coming up , to recognize this
