Does anyone know what time KO is next Saturday.  The ASBP website doesn't have the time, and the TW website doesn't have the fixture at all.

Edit: it is 2pm

If kids are free, what is a family season ticket?

Do you really mean, adults $25, buy two for $40?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

National League Returns to Dave Farrington

Exodus Team Wellingtons first home game in the 2010/2011 ASB Premiership will mark the return of National League football to Dave Farrington Park in Miramar for the first time in seven years.  Ironically, back on the 8th June 2003 Miramar Ranges beat Central United 5-2 in the then National League Preliminary Final in the last game to played at the old Centennial Park.  Miramar Rangers subsequently went on to win back to back titles the following weekend in the Grand Final held in Auckland.

It is fitting that Exodus Team Wellington should be hosting Auckland City as ASB Premiership football heads back to Dave Farrington Park given the strong involvement both Miramar Rangers and Central United have on the respective national league franchises.

Miramar Rangers Chairman and Exodus Team Wellington Board Member Peter Chote said, Its very exciting to see National League football in the form of the ASB Premiership back at Dave Farrington Park.  The ground holds some wonderful National League memories for me and I hope to see the Wellington football community get out to the game on Saturday, there is something special about Dave Farrington when its full.

The Exodus Team Wellington players are also looking forward to playing on Dave Farrington Park.  Captain Karl Whalen said, Our new home ground of Dave Farrington Field is a very special place to play football and we are itching to get out there and make it a fortress.

Coach Stu Jacobs, who has a fine coaching and playing record at Dave Farrington Park said As we all know Dave Farrington Park holds a very special place within a lot of the local football public. I feel very honoured to be able to bring Team Wellington to Dave Farrington Park as our Home Venue. As the last time I guided a team at Dave Farrington Park (Centennial Park) was with Dave on root to successfully securing the National Championship in 2002/3.

Game Details:

Exodus Team Wellington v Auckland City

Saturday 30th October, 2pm Kick Off

Dave Farrington Park, Weka Road, Miramar

Adults $5, Under 18s FREE!

$25 Adult season tickets will be available at the gate.

Parking immediately around the ground is limited, so it is advised that supporters leave themselves enough time to park the car, grab a coffee at one of the cafes close by and enjoy a stroll up to the ground.

What cafe's are "close by".

Crap parking, crap ground for fans (we know theres going to be some rainy days), crap time.

Auctually I'll take that back about crap parking as there will only be a small crowd and I certainly wont be amonst them while they are playing at Dave Farrington Park at 2pm in the afternoon.

Im presuming they aren't at Newtown Park because of the rennovations? Did they have other options that weren't Dave Farrington?

Mar are in charge so I doubt other options were looked at. It's not that bad of a place for a football game.

On the plus, DF was one of the best surfaces in Wellington this year.

Fuck this stupid game

For those not put off by a 15 min walk...
Coffee at the Larder Room - 133 Darlington Rd - parking available on Darlington Rd.
Coffee at the California Garden Centre - 139 Park Road - parking available on Park Road.
5-10 minutes walk further away is Cafe Polo - great coffee - Rotheram Tce.
Weta Cave Museum is basically on Weka Road - same road as Dave Farrington Park - apparently well worth a look around.
For the families - Miramar Park an easy walk for the kids from Dave F. Miramar North School backs onto the park - another area for the kids to kick a ball around, and has the usual school playground setup.
So for the families - pack the kids (FREE ENTRY), a picnic and a football and make an afternoon of it - and be home by 6pm.

Newtown Park was not an option as it is undergoing a period of maintenance work.

This.

And it is more than possible to leave DF at half time, walk to the cafe down the road, and walk back in time for kick off of second half (assuming 15 minute half time and no queue for coffee).

Or, even better, park up at the cafe, grab your coffee and walk up for kick off.

Nice to see national league football back at DF - a ground with loads more personality than Newtown.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

The atmosphere at DF with a few people in it is far better then at Newtown from a home advantage point of view as spectators are right on the sideline. Apparently the pitch is in good knick and both teams will look to play footy so it should be a good game!

True I'd rather less people turn up at our national league games as well. As long as it's at MY clubs ground where I have fond memories of when things were better.

Move on?

Nobody is going to go out to miramar.

Its what I do.

I just hope it goes back to newtown next season, hearing people say things like "im glad it's back here,I have fond memories" and "I prefer less people anyway,we create a better atmosphere" worries me

He was saying that with the crowd size you get to a Tee Dub game - it will be a better atmoshere for the spectator at Farri Pk. Not that he wanted less people. Learn to read.

Ah,I read it with the assumption in mind that there will be less people,so interpreted accordingly.

Guess will find out tomorrow.

I've not been to Dave Farrington park before. Is there seating, or do you just plonk yourself on the grass?

Also google maps isn't helping me, is it the park that is labelled centennial?

Thanks for any help.
