Actually,I'm sure he supports TW as well as the nix. Which is technically supporting more football in nz than you do.

I and many others support both sides. Some got into football via the nix, then started supporting TW too.

Maybe you should get off your high horse and start thinking about how you're helping/hindering the game.

The more people keen on more football the better I'd have thought.

I'll never forget the day that one of JordyBean's mates told me on this forum that I wasn't welcome at ACFC matches. So much for "supporting your local team". And I can't support WUFC because buses don't run out to the paddock at the arse-end of nowhere where they play, and I'm the only Aucklander who refuses to own a car on principle.

Island Bay for us.My boy has played for them since PDP( for better or worse I've coached his teams for 3 years). We live 5 minutes from Wakefield so go to all the home games and most of the local "away " games.Newtown is 5-10 minutes by car so TW games are easy as well. DOesn't matter what team it is , we still go .All good.

It is quite sad that JordyBean gets his jollies off by his xenophobic trolling.

Anyway, Good luck TW. 4-1 to you in Jaffa-ville this weekend.  Tade - keep working and running like you did in the last game.  Everyone -  don't get sent off.

Which mate would this be? I would never tell anyone that they arent welcome anywhere except my own home mate so its got FA to do with me
And you not the only Aucklander that refuses to own a car i strongly suspect Nola also has such principles!!!!

Are people going to the game in Auckland tomorrow?

As a displaced Wellingtonian I'm thinking of it.

Does the sun rise in the morning? Do you support your local team. Oh yes.

TW crowds didnt drop the 1st season of the Nix (when the Nix had their biggest crowds). As stated previously, many times,  the reason that the crowds to TW games has dropped is because the TW management dont want big crowds, simple as that.

The Phoenix getting 1000s more fans coming to football in Wellington and increasing playing registrations. I'd say that's helping NZF. Also all those outside of Wellington who have become football converts.

I don't see how people suddenly stop turning up to nzfc games just because there is a nz side in the A league (like there was in
Auckland). The only experience I've heard of is people becoming Phoenix fans then discovering and supporting nzfc.

But hey making sh*t up to suit your own narrow mind works too.

You don't honestly think those 1000s who turn up for the nix every week would be turning up at TW games if the nix weren't around do you? They're not substitutes for one another. In fact they complement one another.

In biological sciences that's not too bad! You might want to transform the data for the seasonal distribution of the data points, but there's a clear enough trend I think.

Here is Auckland's crowds in comparison.  Unfortunately the 5th best team in the world doesn't keep the results from early NZFC seasons on their website.

....so just how many Welly away supporters can we expect at Kiwitea st 2nd best?
After very disappointing local support for the first leg, my guess would be six at best.

I figure why travel for the first leg when the 2nd is here.

Yes crowds are down,as they are everywhere. They were going down before the Phoenix.
Instead of sticking your boot in you could try helping boost attendance. An idea I had was to not have a semi-pro team in an amateur league, winning it every year.

Hlaftime 2-1 to the Jaffas.  Huge walk up crowd of 423.  Probably not many due to the AWs travelling white noise army.

Was at the game. TW moments of brilliance and moments of madness. First half Cain, Tade and Kamri were lively and caused Auckland problems. Imray pulled off some great saves, including a stunning one from a point blank header. Lissette was poor IMO; lead footed for the first goal and got danced around a few times; and then he leapt out of the defensive line without need for the second. Barbarouses gave away too much ball but at least he was keen; O'Connor and Cheriton struggled away. Second half TW were chasing it, gaps all over the place and a few missed chances for both sides. Final score could have been 8-4 to City.

I was there too. Man, Auckland were going through TW like they weren't there. Imray was the only thing keeping the scoreline even semi-respectable. The 248 crew chanted "Ian Hogg for All Whites" and I think they might have had a point. Abba looked good for Welly in the second half. ACFC's Latin American contingent were on fire - even though Luis whatsisface seems to be shorter than Toto.

The worst bit about the game was the 248 crew's anti-Nix chants. Is that really relevant or appropriate for the ASB Prem? Do they deliberately want to drive away the new breed of footy supporters who have been attracted by the Nix? Although "there's only 8 dollars in Terry's bank account" was kind of funny.

when are they going to bring their anti nix chants to a nix game?

I saw three TW supporters: one guy in a yellow hard hat woot, one in a TW shirt and one in a black jacket but he could have been FBI I guess; which one were u Doloras if any? The City fans are typical jaffa dicks; they can't see beyond the Bombays so don't worry about their chants. As for Hogg haha it was hilarious wen he went down in the box under pressure from Robson (who was excellent on A and D BTW)...it could have been a penalty IMO but O'Leary probably hates that little jerk.Toffeeman662011-03-27 20:36:02
