if anyone needs to slot in there, its Curtis Day

Underrated playmaker - and not used much by McGarry this year.....perhaps he needs to come to one of the big clubs?

Can tech go through round 2 without dropping more than 4 points? Going to be difficult without coburn.

Rumour mill spinning... Young Otago united defender liam lockhart not too happy at Tech.  Bit 2 big of age difference wit too many of the players and isnt digging the team dynamic 2 much. Word on the street is he might head 2 roslyn next year which has a number of his former otago age group players in the squad and was his intended destination this year until jimmy vaughan moved up north. Watch this space.....
Who knows about this ive heard this gangly figgure has been intending to go to roslyn for years now and it hasnt eventuated and quite frankly i dont know if hes good enough to be there ive never seen him play well tbh but he might go a small way into replacing the void that this rif btween management and mather is going to leave, if not in quality certainly in just filling air space....

What club is Mather going to play for in Wellington? Wests? Lower Hutt? Petone? regardless i think he's reached the pinnacle of his footballing endeavours, not many places to go once you've found yourself playing at centreback with James Watson.

funny that comment about Richie Smith, esp how Roslyn want to sign him every year

This could be two pages of the worst reading on the internet..Cunningham would walk into the CM of Otago United and if the could get Overton and Fleming in there aswell they would have a midfield that could compete with any in the national league but there is no chance of that. Also this Mather chat is just a joke right or in a couple of years has he gone from zero to hero or has hughie madden just signed up on here?

Also any news on the great one Sean Brand back home?Would like to catch up with the old bugger

Cavvy will beat Western, will be good to see Blair Duncan back in action down south.

can't believe James "Gorgeous" Watson never gets a mention on here, ok he should be the captain of Grants Braes but Gorgeous is a pretty decent footballer ae

Also a little harsh dont you think Meow?

a trio of Overton, Fleming & Cunningham (not Aajay) would be nice to see

I agree mather only looks good at the back due to playing along side a man of the class of jimmy watson, he somewhat resembles carlos puyol in the way he plays and his calmness surely makes mathers and the whole roslyn teams job alot easier! but he does wear clothes that closely resemble david baines...

Sorry gents. Put this as a new topic under Mather by mistake.

I think Mather has offically gone into retirement. I hear rumors that Matt Joy is going to transfer out of Tech to either Mosgiel or Roslyn. He is fed up with sitting on the bank. I think Tech will drops points this round, Mosgeil are a dark horse for the tittle and I agree with 3-5-2 that they need to get Curtis Day in there, especially now that Regan is gone they need some pace and bite which Curtis can provide. I think Tech is the best place for Richie, lump it long and find his head. No other team in the league does that.

just scoring some goals, Caversham vs Roslyn coming up soon, predictions? Roslyn haven't got the best record against the train in cup & second round fixtures over the past decade

just got off the phone to my mate, he reckons Patrick might be staying here till the Roslyn game then heading back over to the states to sign with Charleston Battery?

I don't think it's just a matter of Tech dropping less than four points cos that would mean other teams also drop none which probably isn't going to happen.
I agree that cunningham, fleming, overton best midfielders at moment. Tech have had a huge hole to fill with loss of Coburn but it happens just like when Terry Boylan leaves any club?
You would think Roslyn were sitting on top of the league the way they talk on here, two wins against any team in the top 7 which well and truly suggests otherwise. I also think the respective goal difference of Cavy and Tech suggests much more footballing quality than Mosgiel and Roslyn. League table doesn't lie. Cavy and tech will be battling it out once again when the season finishes. Mosgiel 3rd and Roslyn 4th. Same old same old.

Wow just heard this today from the horses head/mouth - Apparently Roslyn have booked themselves some cheap flights to North Harbour Stadium for the end of August.....and have booked a spare seat for the return leg....

Confidence or arrogance? possibly both - and hey good on them i guess, why not, if they can stay consistent......who knows

Even though all the Roslyn freaks were scared of Deeley its not him, can't believe you don't know who the great one is, Gattuso?

Talking about Deels, i remember he had Mather in his pocket pretty much every game

Did a google search on this character deely, and funily enough the first reference I find of him is him getting red carded in a agame against Waikato in 2008, one M Rojas came on for Waikato in the 91st minute.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Yea I remember watching those two battle the last few years. Deeley would have won more of the battles I would say. He seems like a sico to me though

Deeley with Mather in his pocket?? Don't think so. Deeley not a bad player but Mathers a cut above him, I don't think hes ever been tackled.
Deeley would be better at losing his nut and swearing at refs tho cudos on that

I once saw Deeley spit on the great legend Dave Shaw

Dave was playing his first ever SPL game, at the ripe age of approximately 17

what did he do?

Shaw calmly walked up to Deeley, and karate kicked him!!

best red card I've ever seen, experience beyond his years
