It is difficult to got from winning 15 -18 out of 18 to losing 15-18 out of 18

What no Ash Watson he's fast enough to give Terris and the other Dragons back line a run around.

As for AW coming up against Danny Boy [sic] after one of Dans famous nights on the tiles.

Be worth you Southern fans getting bums on seats in the Steve Sumner stand.

Well you could get to Timaru for the pre season game.

The Queenstown player's wont be able to train? Never a good idea. Position does Connor Neil play? Never heard of him

There will definitely be imports. From overseas and no doubt at least a couple from Chch etc.

When will Southern not struggle? Southern will struggle at least for the next 5 years, and if we continue to do as shark as we do, the following five years.

It's all about the coach. If he gets players with pace and some aggression in most areas of the park then part one done, that is the part he can't coach.

The formation and how to play to your strengths and the other sides weakness he can coach.

It amazes me the little time some coaches put in on formation up and across the pitch at trainings under all scenarios be it with or without the ball.

Let's see how good the new gaffa is on the training pitch. I hope SU do well under a new leadership as South Island football needs more than one strong team.

Spot on. Of course no guarantees it will be better, but it will at least be different. Which was needed.

rumour is no more games at Forsyth and home games will be out in mosgiel? Will sky put in the effort to televise games now? And will Football south put more money into the grounds? Anyone have any details on any of these questions?

They will prob get moved to ground 3 out in Mosgiel, Junior cricket on a Sunday will get priority.

Surely we are due for an all weather pitch in Dunedin? Like asb park, a home of football is what is needed!!!!

I heard that only some games will be at Forsyth Barr - with a few out at Peter Johnstone Park of all places! Have we seriously not got a better option closer to town? Why not the bloody Caledonian? How are we going to grow attendances and interest if a bunch of games are half an hour away?

Hoof It, the sad irony is that Football South had been saving up significant reserves for their 'Home of Football' project which was a very ambitious project likely to include all-weather pitches & quality facilities solely for football - but they've had to park that and allocate those funds to running a football franchise!

It would seem a shame if they couldn't come to some agreement for a single game of footy to be played there every couple of weeks...

Wonder why Forsyth Barr is largely unavailable? It was a genuine point of difference for Southern United... Would have made TV broadcasting & incentivising a crowd a lot easier...

Apparently it is $3k to hire the stadium, not sure if this is a fact, but based on that, money spent elsewhere would make more sense. lets be honest, most southern games have more players than spectators.

I hear PJ park is the only ground that meets NZ Football regulations but surely just put a few weeks worth of work into Memorial number 1 and slap an all weather surface under lights! Or move the lights and all weather pitch to number 1 under the grandstand

or they could have not wasted their three community days on friendly games

So PJ park ffs. Is there seriously no other place we can park our national league team? Don't get me wrong I'm not a big fan of FB - not if we want any chance of winning anyway - but surely there is somewhere else. Sunnyvale?

I think Sunnyvale is practically out of action this summer - getting re-laid and massive refurbishment of facilities (which will be ace when completed). Otherwise would be a good option - although there is the problem of summer cricket...

I would have thought windy old Tahuna Park would still be better than Mosgiel...

What has happened to Lewis Jackson?

He scored a few last year for a youngster.

I was talking to John Freelander today (Taieri rugby president) he was having a good chuckle about it all. Said that they're putting much needed money into sorting the ground before pre season starts for the rugby season, bar takings to go to the club as well as part of the gate takings.

Tough draw for us, but when is it not? We'll start off giving Hamilton Wanderers their first ever win in the league, then we'll lose by 3 goals at home to Canterbury, followed by a loss to Waitakere where we don't score any goals, which will then be followed by poor Invercargill fans who have been patiently awaiting to watch Southern United play down south just to witness a loss by at least 4 goals. No way we can beat Eastern Suburbs despite it looking easier than it is on paper.

Finally in Round 6 we'll pick up our first points of the season in a high-scoring affair against Wellington Phoenix Reserves. Another awful season ahead.

Mosgiel lads back from their big trip away to Queenstown? Hope they enjoyed it, not sure they did any travel during the season so you've got enjoy it when it comes about - for whatever reason. Some utterly moronic chat coming from a core group of circle-jerks on Saturday night. Quite astonishing actually.
