Just arrived in chch, off to watch ferrymead play cashmere tech. Not a bad day here!!

Your at the wrong game, all the action is at Cuthberts Green.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Cavvy-Northern was pretty good watching if u love goals. after 70 mins Northern finally decided to play football. Higgins was instrumental as per usual. Evan Jones played well too

Dire footie at the cally, fridge had the game plan, when you have no midfield play route 1, hit them at set plays and stifle anything the pony could through at them.

Watched the Caversham Northern game and Caversham are nothing to be feared about this season. Weak at the back conceding three second half goals. Technical and Roslyn and even Green Island should put a few past them without Jude Fitzpatrick anchoring that defense

I had a blast watching the Dunedin Technical Roslyn match TBH Tech surprised as all and they are a very solid team this year congratulations to Mike Fridge and Tony Martin for getting that squad together. Roslyn were a little disappointing TBH had higher expectations with that team. Mind you it is only round two. Green Island with a 4-0 win and University with a hammering over the joke of the league Mosgiel 3-0

Round 2 results

Green Island 4 Queenstown 0

Dunedin Techical 1 Roslyn 0

University 3 Mosgiel 0

Caversham 5 Northern 3

Old Boys 3 Grants Braes 0

Rumour is that Grants Braes had the bare 11, Hyde st party took precedent.

Thanks for the update red_machine - that's just the sort of post we need.  What a great double-header that must have been. Gutted the Horse lost, but you have to admire Fridgey it sounds like he got it spot on...yet again.

We can't believe that Tech won today. The ball spent more time in the clouds than on the deck. Matt Joy just hit long balls all day whilst his thumb was tightly up his arsehole. Speaking of homos, McCormick was lucky to net a goal today as he was atleast 5 yards offside. Mosgiel were faeces against a mediocre Varsity team. The train was going alright until it was almost derailed by a F*cking S*it Northern outfit which is a disgrace to local football, Best part of that game was Northern finally getting a new kit after wearing the same one for the last 75 years. Braes resemble a social hockey team and would be lucky to win the High School girls league. On a lighter note, Old Boys' are the real f*cking deal and will win the league hands (Horner) down.

United we stand, divided we fall....

Matt Joy was outstanding long balls were on target not sure what game you were watching he's more solid than a steel wall Taylor will be a great player in 2 to three years time and that Northern team will produce results this season

Caught ye olde tech Roslyn game after the train out away some black and white strip team. I think it was more Dave hayman knocking some good (long) pills into the box then the joystick. That Richie Smith character knows how to get up for a header btw

off day for the train yesterday, we'll bounce back against the Braes 10+

Tech deserved their win yesterday, too many Roslyn players missing (whole backline) first look at Attwood, didn't really impress, Fraser played well.

I expect the chat on here will subside over the next few days after a Roslyn loss.

That is the best 11 except Gov & Wee Pup to come in. From what I saw thought it was a ok game to watch, some good hard tackles and the players took them (not like the soft cocks falling over) Tech just seemed to play long to Smith, would be nice to see them play out from the back more often instead of route one. Great work on set plays biut with all that tall timber you would expect that.

Seems like Uni has gone under the radar and sitting top of the league with GI however I expect both of them to fall away

Tech vs roslyn was a good game. Both teams looked to have match each other except for the size differences that tech had over roslyn . On that note roslyn in patches did play very good football and if only if it was consistent I feel the ball being on the deck would have moved that massive back four for tech around and cause problems with them turning to face there own goal. Tech loved the long ball which worked for them on the day. Props to mike fridge for his game plan. Well worked and paid off. No one stood out in the game players played well but the ball always flying over the middle doesn't help players get into it. If the ball had been on the deck the game would of been difference but that's just my opinion.

Tough loss for Roslyn at the weekend, however the season is still young and its no disgrace losing to a well organised Tech side. We struggled to get behind their big backline, and didnt take our chances when they came.

Congratulations to Mike Fridge (Aka Fergie) who had his game plan spot on once again, and shame on those who wrote them off after their personnel changes this season.

We look forward to hosting Tech in the return fixture at Ellis Park and the players are determined to turn things around and defend the Masetti Rosebowl trophy they have held since 2011.

There is a great weekend quote in the weekly mag from Cavershams frustrated scotsman Craig Ferguson, in a wee bit of a panic after seeing their 5-0 lead over lowly Northern reduced to 5-3 in a matter of minutes - "aye, we're going to pieces!!"

another quote from the Northern write up..."Down 3 nil at half time was probably unfair for us as it was a pretty even contest."

You called? here I was thinking I wasnt appreciated here. Big win away for the lads and played really well. Mosgiel this weekend in the battle of the saddle and I think its fair to say we are BIG favourites. I can see us hitting more goals than last week. If they can't contain Uni then then how will they cope with Joel and Taylor. 6-0 win!

GI til I die!!!

Can I request odds this week on the following:

- Coldicott/Hancock/Mepham to score

- Mpondo to see red

- First manager to get sacked in the SPL 2013

I don't care which bookie takes my bet but $50 on Tom Batty not to be in goal for Tech on Saturday.

Top game from him against the mighty Horse I heard - so is he sharing with big Mikey?

Why would tech drop there starting keeper after beating the "best side in the league" I'm sorry but tom baty will be staying in a #1 Maroon kit for a while. On the other hand Mosgiel vs Gi will be a thriller, I'm predicting 2-1 win to GI ! Tech vs varsity should be a tight one but tech will run out 2-0 winners!
