Good standard of football in the half I watched but some awful finishing.

Do you know if there will be any more double headers liek the one this weekend?
I think the A-League teams had their youth counterparts play before them a while back but that changed.

So like. Team Welly youth v. Auckland Youth then Team Welly v. Auckland youth. Same with home and away games.
That sort of lay out each week.

We don't play Auckland or Wiatak (unless it's changed since last season).  We're in the Southern Conference.

Not sure the players would be keen to dodge shotputs and javelins at Newtown Park atm.

I'd rather get hit by a javellin than a Napoleon Dynamite tackle.

To those headed out there today, remember the Christmas parade is on in the city so traffic will be an issue if you have to come through central city.  That is all.

End of an era.  Vinnie - It's over.

This is an extremely gracious understatement.

Waikato, coached by Bono, were dreadful. Jesse Edge should be on suicide watch tonight.

The only reason they weren't humiliated was cos TW seemed to lose interest/focus in the last qtr or so

But yes, im a gracious commentator

I don't want to get personal out of respect for Bruce (talk about the football he says) but I have to wonder if Declan thinks he is the star of this show. Its his acadmeny kids, his team and to a large degree I think, his ego. I understand that any coach is entitled to put any team they feel fit and live and die but it but in 3 games, 13 conceded, 1 penalty for... its fair to say that these kids may develop into great talent in the future but this is the wrong level to develop them. I don't see Matt Williams in any of the match day squads and there may be a valid reason for this, but surely with his experience, even if only 70% match fit, it is madness not to have him in that team just to give them some steel and experience.

We now have two extremes with Espanol City looking unbeatable and Barcelona wannabes not looking like they will ever score.

Waikato were outclassed I thought.

Weve played three very good teams so far and apart from the Auckland game, I believe we have kept possession close. I thought we looked more dangerous today, but because were playing an expansive game with a young team, there are a few individual errors we need to fix," Edge said.

Ummm... What?

Were not doing anything that cant be fixed with training twice a day, six days a week. We can talk about it all we like but with young guys, we're going to have ups and downs, but well get back to work again next week.

Early Feb this team will be in top form after the school holidays.

The only thing they looked dangerous to was themselves.  Like a toddler holding a syringe.

On a more positive note, great day for footy at Davey F.  Great crowd in too.  TW should have PJ Lupi and Co on retainer - they give the day a little bit of something special.

I'd like to personally thank PJ for his text around 11pm last night saying: "come at me bro, I'm hammmmmmmmmmmmmered".

Also great to know Jamie Farrington's birth weight...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
