Even for Handy Prem it's pretty crazy that only two teams have a positive goal difference.

and only 4 points separating the bottom 8!

Team Wellington’s Hamish Watson scored twice in the first five minutes at David Farrington Park, volleying home from a corner and then converting a one-on-one chance a minute later to get his team off to a flyer. Sam Mason-Smith made it a 3-0 cushion at half time with a diving header, before Nathanael Hailemariam had the last say in additional time.
Hawke’s Bay battled hard but were always playing catch up in the face of a supremely confident Team Wellington, who sit well clear in second place after today’s win.
NZF's idea of a diving header

Blame Team Welly: "36' GOOOOAAAAAAALL | SMS is on the scoresheet! A wonderful corner from Bassett found the diving head of @pavMasonSmith, who netted home past Parker."

Is Andy Bevin one of the most underated players in NZ? He never seems to come up in potential All Whites squad conversations and he seems to perform better than some of our players that have been pros. Guys like Howieson, Lewis and Tavano get more air time in the midfield All Whites conversation, the latter might not even be eligible.

So really the plan for TeeDubs is to secure second place and try to beat ACFC in the GF.
I was really hoping with ES winning last season and Southern having an exciting roster that the league would be more even and exciting this year, but ACFC managed to kill it again (and rightly so, they have the best coach and an amazing squad).
Unfortunately becomes a little repetitive. Was also hoping with Ramon leaving, things might change.
The mid-season replacements for Auckland City have set them apart again. And the player losses that TeeDubs are experiencing/about to experience will set them apart further. The rest were all realistically playing for 3rd and 4th this season.
It's nothing more than reflection of the talent pool in the country, and the fact that the best players will always gravitate towards Auckland and Wellington.

Wouldn't sleep on Eastern Suburbs potentially pipping Team Wellington to second.
Could be a tough game this weekend - would expect WeeNix to have a decent number of 1st teamers available given the bye week.
Valley FC til I die?

They could. But still have to come to Wellington, and play Auckland City again. And hope they don't slip up anywhere else.
But the fact that TeeDubs have the misfortune of playing Weenix on Nix bye weekends for both games this season helps them.

And the first game between them this season was also on a Nix bye weekend, Waine made a big difference in that game.

Yep. One where he outpaced the backline and slotted in a one on one, and the other a header that most Handy Prem strikers would've struggled to get to, let alone score.
You would think NZ Football would look at the Phoenix draw and not have the same ISPS team playing the reserves on both their bye weekends?

You’d think clubs got the opportunity to give feedback on a draft draw?

Did I see Darren Cheriton at Patrick’s Pies in Tauranga? If not, it’s a bloody twin.
Does this mean you'll start turning up to games now?
Maybe if he plays :)
Though another winter club has brown paper bagged him anyway

Good win for TeeDubs in an entertaining game. The refereeing was abysmal, even more so than usual.

Wayne a no show against TW backline this time. Schrivers matched his play and speed.
