Team Wellington appear to be getting a decent squad together for the remainder of the season and up coming O-League. Hogg and Myers will be valuable additions and both  are young KIWIS 25 and 24 respectively. Both will be lacking match fitness but should get back to form quickly.  Also with addition  of Phil Imray and Paul Ifill Wellington should be will be contenders for both titles.

Can anyone tell me who the minute's silence was for before the Phoenix Reserves match?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I think for Ian Athfield.

Seriously thinking about turning up to this to see him.

Really? Has he ever kicked a ball in earnest? Or did Wellnix have him in marked down for the design of the new boutique rectangular stadium?

Wrong thread I know but I rate Liam Wood. Young lad from Upper Hutt. I presume he's getting a trial or gig with the WeeNix. Christian Johnson was also a good player a couple of years ago but I haven't seen him play for at least two years - plays for the Greeks' reserves at right back I think.

I'd love to see Ifill play again. Is he likely to get much game time?

I reckon he just needs to start warming up from the bench and Hawkes Bay will ship a couple of goals.

TeeDubs lucky to get a 1- 0 win today. HBU will go home very disappointed not to have scored, and then to get caught on the break late. Only some miraculous saves, fully committed last ditch defending, the woodwork, bad luck and some poor finishing stopped HBU from scoring in my opinion.

67' or 73' Goal depending on time keeper. Is that late in a 90' game

How did Ifill go?

You know we belong together...

Permalink Permalink

What resulted from the each sides approach to the game was ugly.

Similar amount of chances I'd say. We prob had more players likely to take one of them, which Smithy did.

Thought Ifill was gone after about 5, started hobbling but played on. A few grimaces, wasn't slow.

We were prob better after he was substituted :O

Still has the skills! His first pass long pass almost lead to the first goal. I thought he looked a bit slow, lazy off the ball but happy to see him play.

He wont mind me saying he's not renowed for his defensive work. Wing in a 4-4-2 is probably a stretch for him the wrong side of 30.

I'm stoked he's back playing though. Some recovery story.

Agree.

Thought he may play as one of two upfront.

With Gwyther out, pos thought him and Smith not that 'mobile'.
