I see Mark Jones is now playing for Team Wellington. Just wondering if the 3 club rule will apply here.

Summer clubs/franchises don't count in the three club rule as far as i am aware - maybe it's still 3 clubs within the ASBP but i know for a fact if you played ASBP and then played for two different winter clubs you would still be fine.

Gotta beat Hekari on Saturday to top the group, if they don't then their goal difference might mean they don't get second best.

Those island refs are a bit dodgy - nothing has changed over the years

Piney just tweeted that, apparently, Calcott has resigned as Coach.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

He's been there a long time, seems very unlikely to me that he was pushed.

Jumped off a sinking ship perhaps?

Sinking ship so soon after winning the league for the first time? Sounds ominous.

First I've heard. Has a young family. Got the job done. Good luck to him if true. And thank you for the hours and hours of work.

Yep. I've had my run ins with Matt over the years but you cannot argue that the per hour rate for that job is absolutely sh1thouse.

Hope he has something to move on to.

Ominous for the entire league if true...

NZF review obviously wasn't very good if expansion has left teams struggling to be able to afford the extra travel etc.

NZF not doing something well? Well, I never...

I suspect NZFs idea of a review would have been to ask the clubs if they could afford it, and they wouldn't have dug much deeper than that.

Naturally, clubs would have said yes (for fear of saying no would see them miss out on a national league place), and decided they'd try and work out the funding later.

in defence regarding Manawatu. The board were weak. Stu wanted to move players out who were holding the game back..The board wouldn't support that. So was working in a very poisonous environment.

His record and reputation at the Mariners was extremely positive and look what he has achieved at Wellington Olympic inside 6 month. You a coach full time?

Stu is a good coach and a nice bloke. He's had some good tenures and some less good tenures, as all coaches do. But he's a former All Whites and national league winner and he does tireless work (not for free obviously) with his Kaizen Academy kids. I think he'd be a decent shout in the circumstances.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
