Gulley is back now, and Wood's come back from injury. And the new Irish lad is there too.

Gulley also spent a bit of time in the middle of the park against WeeNix, although probably shouldn't read too much into that game and how the team lined up.

I know you're just poking, but primarily because at no point in the game did TeeDubs have anything resembling a top lineup on the pitch and the great majority of the game was played by trialists, many of whom won't get anywhere near the pitch during the season. The result was quite misleading on top of that too.

One thing that was very notable though is that they are very early in the pre-season, and legs aren't really there yet. Could be a very long day for them on Sunday.

@grap, I was wondering, from what you saw, is Scott Hales tearing up the Jose playbook and implementing his own tactics and formation or is he carrying things on?

The game last Sunday is not a great gauge since there were so many trialists on show, but the basic shape that Jose had been employing was still very much there, even if places were filled with a lot of different faces. So I expect that it will very much be a continuation of what they'd been doing for the last couple of seasons.

Thanks mate.

Good to hear, I like the way TW had played under Jose

I can also imagine how that high risk system, with new faces, could = shady pre season results

From what I heard at the game on the weekend he was just having a break and having a bit of an OE, not sure if trialing was a priority. Good luck if he is, but would be great if he was back for TW, could do with his experience in the backs!

Thats about right, he only left a couple of months ago so very unlikely to see him back at TW this season

Would assume it's Scott Midgley who was at Western Springs over the winter.

The defensive midfielder, number 19, looked good against the Nix.

Left wingback before he was taken off. Think he'll be a very decent addition at Handy Prem level though his crossing left a bit to be desired.

He any good? Bio please... ?

The 24-year old arrives in the capital following a successful winter season with Westerns Springs AFC who finished fourth in the LOTTO NRFL Premier Men’s competition.

After playing his junior football with Auckland side, Central United before progressing through the Auckland City youth ranks, Midgley spent 3 seasons playing at Missouri State University making 54 appearances for their first team.
