I saw today that the Nix are moving closer to getting a reserve team playing in next years comp. Do you think this could decimate team Welly's ranks or possibly the NZFC as a whole?

Have a listen to Radio Sport from 11:15.  Tony was on making it clear that the plans are in conjunction with the existing sides and that they will be very careful not to take players off the other NZFC sides.

The idea is the side will be the non-first team players each week and the club will sign 7 or 8 youngsters on Academy deals from around the country for a 6 month period.  He stated categorically that they would not target anyone already playing for an NZFC side... unless it was for a full time deal in the squad of 23.

Superb..!! another step to making the competition a little less of a missmanaged joke...next may I suggest one team {to be drawn by lots } to have to play in clown shoes or flippers ...if they win their existing points will double...Mucho excitement and well within FNZ / NZF 's capability roll on the new NZFC !

Team Welly v Waitaks out at Fred Taylor @ 2 pm tomorrow.
Emblem says, "The scary thing is that we would go top if we won, but we'd only be three points ahead of Wellington if we lost."

http://www.nzfc.co.nz/index.php?id=1013
The fitness level of this lot should see Waitaks through:
8- Brent Fisher
9- Benjamin Totori
10- Allan Pearce
11- Neil Sykes
12- Roy Krishna
13- Dimas da Silva
14- Jeremy Christie
16- Neil Emblen

3-1 loss to Otago. Not sure how we have blown out here

Wellington were very poor up front & Otago took their chances, too many passes through the midfield allowing Otago to get back behind the ball, quite similar to what used to happen in the first couple of years of NZFC

Good to see all the money TW have spent this year is
paying off eh?!!
Bale rivals Jake Butler for the title of worst midfielder

I reckon a an all-local TW lineup of:

McLay, Little, Barron, Barbarousos, Cheriton, Keat, Duncan, Watson, Lewis, Gulley, Bannatyne would have done just as well if not better than the current crop of imports.

In saying that, not my balls on the line so it's easy to be an armchair supercoach.

Agreed about Butler and Bale.

Apparently Aaron Clapham should be an All White according the Braithwaite....

TeeDUbs yoof don't start comeptitive games for another couple of weeks.  They might have some warm-up stuff on but I'm not sure on details.

Been a bit distracted this week.

TeeDubs going down to Hawkes Bay United 1-0 today.

Goalscorer for HBU: George Barbarouses.

Does that spell the end of our chances of playoffs?

Not mathematically, but kind of tricky.

I am taking a book with me to my next TW game.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Game was actually pretty entertaining.

Good end to end stuff early on especially. Barbarouses forced a fantastic save out of Captain Jimbo, and at the other end Draper missed with a powerful header from the edge of the six.

If that bored you, then you're not into football much. In fact one of the more entertaining TeeDubs home games this season. Just a shame we weren't quite good enough.

The NZFC site described it as a high quality game. Can't agree wth that, how could it be?  Wingers who can't cross, midfielders who can only graft, forwards who can't finish, don't make for a quality game of footie. Those comments go for both sides btw. Only George B looked like he had something extra and even that was only in patches. I feel sorry for Draper, he needs a target man to play off but is pretty much alone up front. Not giving up hope but the top 4 looks a long way off I'm afraid, given we have Waitak next week.

I enjoyed the game, despite turning up 20 minutes late due to the incompetance of my bus service. Will be tough next weekend against Waitak, I'm a bit gutted Plodder has left now, was looking forward to seeing him play.

i reckon TW could have snatched a draw or even a win. that Draper miss, one on one with the keeper was the low point of the game.

when is the next home game? I only managed to turn up a couple of times this season but keen to show up again.

CRIKEY!! I took my book and didn't even think of opening it.Book? A look at the disappearing languages of Europe. Sound good? Then try this link   This one..

A far superior match to the one that was offered last week.

Waitakere's first goal - very good technique.
James Bannatyne - Should he have had a red?
Michael Fifi -  gave away a lot of possession and then redeemed himself with a gem...

...and some "interesting" goalkeeping.... from both keepers.

In the words of Bill "I LOVE FOOTBALL!"

p.s. That Ryan de Vries looked OK didn't he?
