I just managed to get double passes to the rest of Manwatu's home games for the season through my work. At least I won't have to worry about paying if they keep performing like the Wellington game.

Can't wait to see what HBUs paying at the TAB, then i shall fill my boots. I don't think they have got out of 2nd gear yet, but when they do-look out.
I hear there is a large Bay contingent coming down ,as well as the famous 'Bay Army' .  :)

Some interesting team changes by Shane. Both Fijians on the bench but where was Dominic Rowe? Nieres was fighting a losing battle all day up front on his own. He played bloody well but needed the support. If Rowe had been playing, I think the result may have been a bit different. I've noticed this season that opposition teams seem to have more urgency than Manawatu and its being reflected in the scoreline. We're certainly missing Totori as in the past if Manawatu conceded 3 like yesterday, we would have just scored 5 and Totori would have got 3 of them.
It was also a bit embarassing listening to the 6 guys from the Bay Army make more noise than the Green Frenzy. I think I spotted a Retro Ricki amongst them as well.

Robbos corners were sh*te....
The team looks like all is lost already for the season and its time for some MAJOR changes
Give Scott Robson the captains armband and let Robbo get on with his slipping game
Dont put injured players on (utting)
And show the fans a bit of heart because they are starting to hurt!!!!

yes we were making more noise than the Green Frenzy, and whats with them sitting during the game?? .. I wear my Retro Ricki to every HB game since we don't have an official 'Bay Army' shirt but I might work on a design, and it won't be a ripoff on the Retro either hehe I think Manawatu is a better team than they are showing and I wish you guys luck for the season ahead

Ah, so that was you You guys did a good job. Green Frenzy missed a great opportunity after we scored to hit you with "You're not singing, you're not singing, you're not singing anymore" but alas it was not to be.
We're really missing a proven goalscorer and it shows. As long as we don't finish bottom, I guess thats all we can hope for.

Michael Utting injured his ankle in the game against Hawkes Bay and ended up in hospital. 19 year old Andrew Bailey will start against Otago on Sunday.

Anyone see the Doco on Utting today? It was on the doco channel about back in the day when he got kick out of the allwhites camp. Went on for about a hour....it was called "one for the road"

2 wins in a row for Manawatu and now 5 points behind Hawkes Bay. Looks like Nieres has found his scoring boots and Manawatu unbeaten in 3 games with Andrew Bailey in goal. Hopefully things are on the up.

I'm worried I really am. We need to start putting our chances away. We need a strong tall guy in the box to win some headers as some of our set pieces were just crying out for someone like that last Sunday. Osea springs to mind but you just don't know why the hell he is not scoring. Is this Peruvian guy playing? Any info on him?

I would be happy if they can keep it under 4. Last I heard they were having trouble with red tape so he might not play. I wouldnt mind seeing Gus and Nieres up front I think Gus has been underused this season. He has'nt played much but whenever he does he looks better than Osea. I recken the two Urquarys would be a handful up front

I agree with putting Gustavo on. Looked lively when he came on as a sub against Waikato. Pablo Yackson looked the goods when he came on today. Either playing as a wing back or perhaps left mid because he was right up with the attack and putting in a good effort. Anyone with a few attacking ideas is more than welcome to a start considering the lack of good service so far!

Need to put Gustavo on more. Very underused striker. He is is a handful for the other defenders and can free up space for the others. I wonder if Shane is not sure if he wants him to be a finisher or a setter. Just let him have a go on one or the other just let him take turns with Osea during the game and then press with both at the closing of the match for extra pressure.

15-1 agregate score against Wellington this year. 5 a game. Lowest was 3. Thats painful. Scored once (away) in the first 10 minutes.

(Also haven't celebrated a home goal since 20th January, and Willy hasn't seen one since Robbo's against Canty in December. Poor bugger. Chances are we may not score one again this year

Have you actually found anyone you like and I'm not just referring to referees here. You seem to have a lot of people in your targets...

Backing you up here. Referees this year have been very harsh to Youngheart. Not exactly the reason they've been as bad as they have but a few calls have really changed a fair few results. We've had so many red cards against us, and from the one's I have seen, very few have been worthy of a red. There have been penalties given against us that shouldn't have and penalties for us that should have been given. Opposition players have got away with kicking the sh*t out of Gonzalo Nieres and headbutting Prince Quansar and we've been punished.
Not blaming referees for the lack of performance this year, just saying that we really have had our fair lot of bad calls.

We've had calls against us and I'm agreeing with you Joe here but let it be known that its not what any Youngheart fan (Joe included) would solely blame for our problems this year. I don't think anybody knows exactly, we did lose 3 key players but I don't think anyone expected it to have quite this bad of an impact. Just been a combination of things I guess, but we're lacking pace and creativity which we had plenty of last season in Totori and Mae Mae respectively.

Yep. I think we simply found it impossible to replace Maemae, Sale and Totori. What was it that the Standard said? Maemae chose not to come back because he didn't want to be the only Solomon Islander. Simple solution: Get another.

Its worth it, no matter how potentially rubbish the new one would be, to get Mae Mae back. Perhaps a scouting tour of this Solomon Island olympics team that beat..Vanuatu was it? 11-0 is in order, eh Shane?

Going back to Sundays game. I thought Nieres was a real handful and has really come on leaps and bounds but he's up front on his own. I got thinking what it would be like with him and Totori playing together. Imagine the chaos they would cause for opposing defenders.
As for that number 3 getting away with kicking Nieres in the back while he was on the ground right in front of the linesman, he didn't even get a yellow????
Pretty hard then with 10 men.

If you lie on the ground and hold the ball with your hands (cheating) expect to have and opposition player try and kick the ball.

I don't think Nieres could be accused of diving or whatever you're saying about him. The defenders around him are very physical (I've got photo evidence on this account) and he does bloody well to stay on his feet. He isn't getting any protection at all from Referee's and that doesn't help him.

I've distanced myself more or less from Green Frenzy, impressed with the organisation and effort they've put in but the only ones chanting over there are some kids who occasionally do clap clap clap clap, youngheart. Will go with them again if they put a decent effort into some more creative chants (and all of them actually doing it!)

With a bunch of mates now and I dare say we're putting a little more passion into it!
