Incredible draw for us in the CL.

Excellent chance of at least making the semis again and probably should be looking at the final now as well.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yea on paper you'd think that we'd be meeting Barca in the semis. But a lot of football to be played before then.

Always seemed unlikely that Villa would be a serious challenge. That said, I’m still happy to see them go down to Wolves 2-0.

Well it was all off and now back on again!
What a performance and result. Just didn't see anything like that coming. Great story for Eze. Dream move to his boyhood club and 5 goals against Spurs in his first season. Fun fact, he's already our 3rd highest scorer against Spurs in the PL. Only 2 behind Pires who always seemed to score against them. And what a day for Gyokeres to find his best performance.

Geez I dont know how you live like this Ajc ;)

Not about Arsenal but this sentence in a Football365 article is quite remarkable
"It’s a fair sign of just how fast and chaotically the wheel turns at Spurs, but worth remembering now that when Porro arrived at Spurs three years ago it was to play as an attack-minded right wing-back in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 having played a starring role in Ruben Amorim’s version at Sporting."

It was more at the media narrative that it was off then back on,  but all part of the roller coaster.

Lovely CL draw.  Turns out winning the league stage games and coming top does mak a difference. I see everyone has doubled down on why winning the CL also wouldn't really count with an "easy draw." Apparently having to get through Bayern, Atletico, Inter and Bilbao to get there doesn't count. I also  note Man City lost to all 3 "easy" teams in our route and Inter were just thrashed and knocked out by one too. How many seasons in a row did we keep getting Bayern or Barcelona? Eventually you're due something that looks a bit nicer.

Next 10 days are big. Home to Chelsea and away to Brighton in the PL - 2 of our hardest fixtures in the run in. Then away in the FA Cup.

Saliba getting a long overdue goal, although could be case made for an OG - which would be almost more enjoyable.

The goals will obviously boil some piss but big result.
I saw a clip of Paul Merson recently where he said they used to get called "boring" when he was playing too, but he had another look at his medals and they all just said "winner" on them.

It literally doesn't matter how you win, as long as you get the job done.

It's not gymnastics, there are no points won for style.

Happy St Totteringham's Day everyone!
I'm told it's the earliest ever in the premier league era? LOL

Huge win this morning. We did play well I thought, but would've liked a goal or two more.
Man what is up with the shakyness at end of games. Three months ago when we were one up with 20 to go you could turn the tv off. Now it's heart attack material.
Damn I love Raya. He stands up big time in the big moments for us, time and time again.

I love the p*ss boiling now, cannot get enough, it's at the point where it makes victory even sweeter for me LOL
The three goals in the game were all from corners, one of em an own goal, one of em nearly an own goal, and I loved it

I have always regularly read Football365 and so many of their writers seem to dislike us this season, and really don't want us to win. Will Ford in particular, I've noticed sticks the boot in at every opportunity. Whenever we have a bad result their site is littered with Arteta out stuff.
Even this morn the narrative is we needed Raya to be good and Sanchez to be sh*t, and that we were lucky.
If we win, it will be rather pleasurable reading their moping. If we don't, I'll avoid the site LOL

Happy St Totteringham's Day all. At a quick google, this is the earliest it's ever been, beating the 2007/08 record which came on 9th March.

if we win the league then I'll take getting lucky.
It'd be even sweeter if City remain second and dont get any points deducted - at least until next season,

A really noticeable thing this morning was how we dominate games with and without possession. Chelsea had 60+ % of it throughout, yet we created far more chances and looked better I thought, for the entire game, minus the last few frantic minutes (which are the worry for us at  the moment).
We are just entirely comfortable most of the time, no matter who has the ball or where it is on the pitch. It's definitely a maturity this team now has, that was not there under Arteta until now. That makes our late capitulations in a few of our recent games all the more inexplicable. We just need to snuff that crap out and multiple trophies can be ours.
Also how good is Hincapie? Going into this season I was all about MLS taking that spot, I really liked him, then Calafiori got really damn good and I loved him, now Hincapie has deservedly taken that spot off both. Insane stuff really. MLS could be up for a loan out next season I think.
Timber looks tired, if Delap had his head up for that other late chance we might've been in real trouble, and it would've all been Timber's fault - he played Delap onside, and that hesitation then meant he was wrong-side of his marker who could've been in on goal had Delap been better. Hopefully next season White is fit from the get-go and we can rotate in that spot a bit more, to prevent a repeat. And I think we're going to need White on this run-in, with all the comps still going.

Gyokeres has really impressed me with his increased link up play, and it's noticeable how much more intricate play we're getting in and around the box as a result. His dropping deep runs is opening up movement and space for the wingers, and then around the box we're not just lofting in crosses. I feel bad for Jesus that he didn't get minutes today, I actually think Havertz wasn't needed and we'd benefit having a striker willing to run like Jesus does to cover his team mates.

On the Ben White front we keep getting linked to right backs, I suspect we'll see White sold. White's not been the same since we broke him playing 50+ games in a row. I also think MLS is prime candidate for a loan next season as he's not getting enough minutes. Time away could lead to an ESR type fee, or a Saliba like glorious return.

Agreed. That Gyokeres flick in the first half very nearly had Trossard in on goal, was really happy to see that. We need those little Giroud-esque parts to come into his game now to really make the most of his presence.
I love how he is such a physical problem all the time, even when he's quiet in terms of having the ball he still demands attention, opposing defenders are always pre-occupied with him. And he seems incredibly fit.

I think we'll see Gyokeres hit another level next season if he can have a full pre season. If he keeps improving his touch and link up play he'll have a 30 goal season for sure. TBF to him he's at 15 goals and 2 assists for this season, and there is at least 12 games of football left...

thank you Forest indeed. 7 points one game ahead.
did enough this morning, wasnt pretty ball but that's how you win titles.
We got away with one early when Raya passed the ball to their striker, but Gabby saved us! Saka's shot was brilliant, on target and the keeper fails and megs himself.
0-1 with City drawing we finally get some results going our way.

Also anyone in Auckland know of any events/places showing the League Cup final. Turns out wife and I will be up there for a few days. Could just watch in our accommodation but bit more annoying for her still trying to sleep without a separate lounge as we'd have at home.

Monday is absolutely massive. It's monumental.

I couldn't care less about people's opinion on the League Cup. We haven't won a trophy in six years. We are playing our direct rivals for the title in this match. We need to prove that we can do it when it counts and get this one over the line. It will crush City, and I believe be the final nail in their coffin.

A loss could prove devastating. The doubts will remain, and City will be buoyed by it.

My gut feeling is we will be ok in the league regardless, City just don't have it in them to put a run together. But Monday is crucial.

Three for me, and two for them.
