thats a really good win considering how long we played with a man down, great character shown by the lads, though what toll it will take on the players heading onto the arse game this weekend remains to be seen. not too much i would think given the rotation of the squad.

played a few games this season with a man or two down and have shown ourselves quite well.

Should have put the game to bed in the first 15 minutes...

Yeah Gervinho should have buried that Theo cross and you would have expected RvP to do better too. Still, we got there in the end.

f**k that was f**king embarrassing. what a pathetic peformance

something that annoyed me was the fact that last week bosingwa got a straight red for denying a goal scoring opportunity and today schenzeny (sp?) got a yellow for a foul in a similar spot with a similar amount of other defenders covering.

that does not however excuse our f**king woeful defending and poor finising

I love how much you hate us, i really do. You must feel so proud that your 100 million spent in the summer has only got you 2 points ahead of us following our worst start in over 50 years

I'm going to a halloween party tonight and decided to dress up as something shocking.

So I've dressed up as the Chelsea defence.

Three for me, and two for them.

Haha, hate is a very strong word. The only team I genuinely hate is Man U.

Im happy you guys have bounced back.

There are just so many gooners here its hard not to take a shot when the opportunity arises. Your lot will more than likely be ahead of us in the next couple of weeks anyway...well as long as Van Persie can keep scoring faster than your defence makes mistakes.

Chelsea dominated possession, played more cleanly than their opponents, and generally were the better footballing side.  Unfortunately, they don't quite have enough pace at the back to get away with that high defensive line.

Luiz is part of the long-term solution, but AVB needs to get his hands on another quick defender - or convert one, a la Mascherano.  (If it wasn't for injury, Essien would have been worth a look.)

yes if we are looking for consistency it's a pretty poor call.
After that decision I thought Arsenal didn't really get another one.
did like RVP's finish for #5

Just so you don't forget, this is what a clean sheet looks like.

Not hard to spot the Arsenal supporter - those are pillows and a duvet.

These are clean sheets:

great game for a neutral who likes goals, some classic moment in there, both sides defence was poor though....

The one thing that stands out for me in this game is that Cech(who I rate) was beaten three times at the near post.I bet his manager will not be happy.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Agreed, thought Cech was appalling. Admittedly only saw the highlights though.

Genk tomorrow, away. I know we should win. But after the last 2 weeks ive lost a little bit of faith in our ability to get the job done.

Heres hoping we can get the job done though.

I'd be very surprised if Genk beats us.
It'll be nice to have a win after QPR and Arsenal :/

1-0 up at halftime courtesy of a Ramires strike. Should be 2 but we missed a penalty, for some reason David Luiz took it

what. the. sh*t.
Why is Luiz taking penalties?
At least we're still at the top of group E I suppose, should have been 3 points not 1 though.

a draw away in the champions league is not dreadful, but against genk it almost is. pretty poor really, we should have had more than enough to get past them. this just makes the remaining 2 group games more significant. we should be 4 clear with 2 to go, now we are only 2 clear

will have to wait and see the reasoning behind luiz taking the penalty

Our current patch of bad form is far to similar to our 'bad moment' last season under Carlo.

Blackburn this weekend. A clean sheet and 3 points would be truly wonderful.

3 points and a clean sheet

just watching the replay now, in hate it when our games arent live

some nice interplay between lampard and mata on the edge of the box. hopefully this partnership can continue to get better

nice header from lampard after a lovely cross from ivanovic. not pretty but stoked with the win

was really worried when cech went down, glad it wasnt too serious

Suupaaaahhhhh, Suuuupaaaaahhh!
Top class with that header.
I couldn't believe Torres' shocker of a miss. And again with the defenders taking the penalties? Why did AVB pick Alex (who had a pretty terrible game) over one of our primo strikers/midfielders?
Great to take 3 points and a clean sheet, but I thought we'd knock Blackburn a bit harder than 1-0.
With that said I thought Blackburn played really well, our guys still looked shaken from the lat few games. Hopefully this will bump the confidence back up, they'll need it against Liverpool

pretty stoked to have ivanovic at right back vs blackburn. hes our best option there imo. simple fact is hes a better defender than bosingwa and ferreira and thats all that matters. bosingwa does get forward well but i think ivanovic does it at the right time, more of a footballing brain and a good ability to read the game. ivanovic is a good threat on set pieces too so im hoping avb will stick with him
