yep, going to use the 24 hour pass to decide whether to sign up, or get the games delayed on sky

Lots of info coming from PLP in the last 2 days before the season starts. Good trouble-shooting email just came through before, with some help on basic home computer issues, also encouraging people to ring their call centre no matter the problem.

Just signed up for the 24 hour free pass - go for it now in case they run out - limited to 10,000. Will get complete access for 24 hours from sign-up time to all features.

Go to the "Subscribe" page here, click on "Day Pass" and fill out the first step "Create Account" then instead of entering credit card details enter code "TIGER" in the promo code field on the right: https://www.premierleaguepass.com/plp/secure/registerform

FIRST GAME LIVE: Liverpool v Stoke 11.45 pm tonight

Also: five live games at 2 am incl. West Ham v Cardiff and one game at 4.30 am

So the final outcome of all this is that Sky would have scored a winner if they had had their own football dedicated channel where football from around the world would have filled up the air time. But alas, Sky dropped the ball and the genuine, passionate football fans in New Zealand have been seriously fucked over and expensively if you wish to get the most of your football.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Oh great. That is exactly what i don't want - endless games on tape delay. Satellite and Aerial are just artificial constraints, it is last century thinking. Consumer choice is what wins - let us choose the games we want.

Just watched the preview show on the 50 inch TV - looked great, this is a huge improvement on Sky can watch any game and have multiple platforms.

Haven't read the 54 pages of this - but can you get it on iPad and if so how do you get around the flash problem?

Their iOS app is with apple awaiting approval. Once released you will be able to AirPlay to an Apple TV if you have one

Yep I have a Apple TV - but I over-heard today there is also a way to stream it now without waiting for the app but haven't found a way yet.

I have a PC connected directly to a TV anyway so that will be main way to watch it beside a laptop.

You could get the skyfire browser app that which can view flash. I think it's $6.49. It's not 100% certain that it works on every site but someone on twitter said they were using it for plp.

didn't work for me

Can I just say for those of you who haven't watched club TV channels its pretty much amateur hour, especially the commentary. Very one sided as you'd expect and the whole presentation graphics etc is not great. I'm a Liverpool fan and I find liverpooltv which is free here to be a tough watch.

Is it?!

Up and running on the laptop (free 24 hour pass).

Doesn't look too bad.

No buffering.

I'm going to develop a nervous twitch if it keeps jerking like this.

Will go nicely with my new found sense of feeling like a midnight pedo rubbing one out in the back room in the dark instead of being able to watch my footy on a fucking television like a normal cunt, all because some dipshit dropped the ball and now I have put my hand in my pocket to feel like an epileptic rapist...

Wow this is terrible quality, set on 3000k as well. Glad I didn't pay. I am getting better quality on a free streaming site, the irony.

Quality is good for most people I've heard from and seen on twitter.

Have noticed those (like you) who were massively negative about it, tend to be the ones saying its rubbish quality.

I'd take live football on 4 channels in HD anyday over online streaming.

So you buy Apple TV but didn't buy the service you got the Apple TV.
I'm genuinely questioning the motives behind every one of your posts.

Yes I brought the Apple TV before buying the pass. Crazy right?

No it's not my internet, I am on the best quality option. It's not up to snuff after just watching All Blacks in HD.

Quality looks fine to me. Totally watchable on the laptop. The ball in flight is a bit blurry it no biggie. Will probably hook up to the telly tomorrow which might be different.

I guess I just have high standards after having sky provide me with HD last season. I'm like that though with video quality though.

Yes how dare I have an opinion on the quality being worse than last season. =)

Well first you say quality is worse than an illegal stream..

I've never had an illegal stream look as good as this

Nobody's saying it's HD, not even PLP.
And yes, if they improve it, even better.

I don't see your point. I brought the Apple TV in preparation for the EPL. Then they didn't launch with either HD or the App. So I didn't buy the pass. I got a free tiger pass and am just giving my honest opinion on the service. Could care less about Liverpool so just enjoying having a midnight moan before the mighty gunners.

Looks fine when it's paused, or on a stationary shot like the above. But watch the ball when they pass it blurs across the field. And the framerate is really low. I will run FRAPS over it to see what it actually is.

Anyway, did Sturridge call "Nuts" just before he shot? What did we eventually decide on a shot through the legs and straight in? Nuts or no nuts?

Meh. Its somewhere between sky with HD and sky without. Hardly worth the page of moaning you're giving it.

My opinion is if he called it, it counts. Because that'd mean it was deliberate.

By sky without HD do you mean like the old decoders without HDMI or SD programs being upscaled like Game of thrones on Prime? I have it up on the big TV though and I sit pretty close. So it's quite a dissapointment is all I'm saying. And I am just replying to people quoting me, would be rude not to =)

I agree. I think scoring is the one time you don't need to collect the ball on the other side in order for it to be a full nuts, as long as you called it first.

The lack of buffering is actually amazing. Been watching for an hour now without even a split second pause.
