so exactly what erudite point were you attempting to make my good man?

given that your post lacked any sense of coherence with the preceding posts, it seems a little incongruous that you would raise concerns regarding anything as complex as a narrative thread

I was posting a funny gif from another forum. I did not read the thread.  I'm sorry I disappointed you so.

Since you like good jokes try this one: What's red and white, based in London and won't be playing in the UCL next season?

Mark Gonzalez (4.5m): Only if you know nothing about football could you say he is not good enough to play in the Premiership, fumed Bentez after the speedy winger was refused a work permit in 2005. A year later he got his permit. A year after that he had been sold to Real Betis. Apparently he was not good enough to play in the Premiership

A little unfair. It's not like any of them cost us lots of money. All 11 players probably cost us less than Shevchenko cost Chelsea (probably the most expensive flop in English football) and we even made a profit on Bellamy.

Putting Rafa's comments about Gonzalez into perspective, I watched him a few times the season he was on loan in Spain waiting for his work permit and he looked the goods. In one game against Real Madrid he ripped them apart. But as we all know, Spain is not the EPL and not every good player is suited to English football.

Besides I'm sure if we troll through the signings of all the top sides we'll find them littered with flops.

Since we're talking about flops, saw more speculation this morning about Keane being sold in January.

Also saw that Rafa is trying to do a deal to swap Jermaine Pennant with Aaron Lennon.

Agreed. How can Bellamy be a flop? We made a profit! Worst one is Pellegrino. Did they really think we bought a 33 year old for the first team? And he's back here now sorting out the defence. Also, dont think Spurs would let Lennon go for JP...Dont really rate Lennon too highly anyway. Should be bringing in Aguero!

Every team has it's flops, Juan Sebastian Veron was probably the biggest one (for Chelski and Man U) or Gaizka Medieta at Lazio, to go with Shevchenko.

No doubt more Gooners will invade our thread with our upcoming match.

Xabi wants the same match as me. Draw is tonight will see who we have tomorrow morning.

I like Lennon, incredibly agile and quick, needs to improve though but a good player for the Premier League.

Sheva must surely be the biggest, anyhow. You want Real? Same here. Atleti to knock out United and us to knock out Real. Meh, I think he is quick but any serious Spurs fan will tell you- no end product. Needs to get that final ball sorted, then he will be much better. Too many crosses dont find anybody. If Riera had real pace then he'd be total boss!

Last year i wanted Inter,  and got it. This year wanted Real and got that too. Also wanted the Inter Man Yoo match up as it eliminates one of those teams (which should be front runners). Tasty fixture, but should only be thinking about this week and the match at Ashburton Grove.

Real...Lets crush them! Torres and Rafa back in Madrid, all the Spanish lads hoping to show Spain what they've achieved on Merseyside...Should be a great tie. I hope sooooo much Torres grabs the winner in the Bernabeu and then we take them back to Anfield and take them apart! But agree, big game this weekend. Getting pretty nervous...Toure ruled out for them, no?

Happy with that result this Morning? Where was Mascha? I get frustrated when Rafa makes his subs, I always feel that he is too defensive. O well two points clear at the top is pretty good......well it's actually awesome

Yeah, I am happy enough. Felt the sending off changed the game a lot. Masch had the flu so he didn't travel, I think. How was taking off a midfielder and putting on a striker too defensive??

Taking off Riera and Keane when they were a man down in my opinion was defensive. Why not take off Lucas and leave the attacking players on?
Permalink Permalink

Well, he did take Lucas off for a striker, and he took Keane and Riera off for attacking players too- Babel and El Zhar, so obviously he was trying to stretch them and bring on fresh legs and attacking ideas. Thats how I see it, anyway.

At home on merseyside with the flu!

I think you should retract that thought.  Rafa also wasn't at the game, so it's a bit rough to blame him for being too defensive with the subs.

I've supported AC Milan for ages though!

This is just because i have never watched the premier league. I can find a different team if you prefer!

how are you happy enough? you lot had a numerical advantage of 12 to 10 (im including the ref on your side) for over half an hour, we were without Cesc for that whole period, and Adebayor, and Walcott, and Toure and you still couldnt even get near scoring. I'd be very dissapointed if i were a Liverpool fan..had a great chance to go 4 points clear and ensure top spot for Christmas but you couldnt do it against a severely weakened team with 10 players!

Disappointing result really, we were the better team even before Adebayor being sent off. Frustrating as hell again especially late on those subs really were disappointing, we didn't push all out for victory. Babel looks half the player he was last year, really looks out of match sharpness, but I guess it's a cache 22.

Gutted RVP scored because usually in those positions (and in even better positions on his left) he powers them with great technique and power into the side boards, Reina was late to move to his near post as well. But then again Keano has been less than stellar...

A joke of a red card for Ade, cards ruined the game which was great in the first half. Ref turned it into a grudge match. My first reaction was he must have mouthed off at the ref, because he couldn't go for that.

No Skrtel, Torres, Masch, Aurelio or Rafa... Pretty unlucky for Adebayor (although I think he was right, he was pretty high on Insua, not so high on Arbeloa). We are disappointed, but I'd have taken a point before the game. Even near?? Agger, Gerrard had a few? We controlled the game for most of it, the sending off fired your lot up, otherwise I think we would have won. So the sending off was bad for both of us.

We're always gonna drop points, and Arsenal away is no shame in dropping 2 points. Also, who would have taken being second by one point at Chrimbo (assuming Chelsea win) at the start of the seasoon?

Mate Rafa was still calling all the shots. Didn't you see him on the phone to that guy. Still one point clear at Christmas, it's only downhill from here!
