Liverpool Thread - Premier League Champions* 2019/20 (Part 1)
He isn't going anywhere and from where I am he seems to be really enjoying his footie at Liverpool. As long as he doesn't score at the Bridge on Oct 26th you can keep him!
Now if only we could sort the ownership of the club out!

"We probably have three to four thousand fans going out to Madrid for the match. The flights will have been booked, the hotels will have been arranged, and now it's in tatters. What are they supposed to do now?
"I guess we're left with two options - change the destination of where the fans are flying in to, or to arrange coaches or some other form of transport from Madrid to wherever the new venue will be.
"But who does that? Uefa? The club? The fans themselves through the travel agents? It's a mess." [/quote]
Furthermore, black journalists in the press area were racially insulted by Atletico fans and no provision was made for disabled supporters who had bought tickets.
Monkey chants were then aimed at Marseille's black players, and Atletico coach Aguirre repeatedly swore at Valbuena, calling him 'a son of a whore' and other insults, and then held onto the ball to waste time at a throw-in.

"And British sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe called on UEFA to use the money from Atletico's record fine to help Liverpool fans.
Sutcliffe said: "It's great to see UEFA taking a tough stance on racism as this is the only way we are going to kick this problem out of the game.
"But the decision to move the match at this late stage will play havoc with Liverpool fans' travel plans and put them out of pocket.
"These decisions need to be made more quickly to avoid this. I would like to see UEFA use the 150,000 euro fine paid by Atletico to help the Liverpool supporters get to the match.""
Still, its a good call and I reckon UEFA should use the cash to help the Pool supporters, still I can't see it happening, UEFA and FIFA only give out cash when there's something in it for them.

I'm concerned about the Athletico games though, we don't want to finish 2nd in our pool or we'll have to face one of the big boys early.
Don't know what Steve Bruce is going on about, Valencia showed no discipline and slide hard and from behind. Not "Two players challenging for the ball"
Zaki is pretty impressive, thought he was good before this game even more impressed now.

Lucky you can face us next week as well.....

Bruce should shut up he's starting to sound like Sam Allardice.
Both yellows were deserved so he has no one to blame but the player. For the first the ref had already spent too long trying to get the wall back and Valencia had moved closer again before the ball was played - easy decision. For the second he went in studs up and 2 footed so it didn't matter whether he got the ball or not - even easier decision.

Totally agree, there can be no argument about both yellows. The wall was a f**king joke and diving in studs up is ALWAYS a yellow
Did the scousers invent terrace culture as we know it?

Scrappy game, but we were cruising throughout. Until Carra let the ball bounce. That said wasn't the worst result. One complaint, refs and linesman were crap, ruled out two legit goals (one for each side) and gave Riera a yellow for diving when he was obviously caught in the box.
You guys should qualify top spot, hopefully seeing another amazing Arsenal v Liverpool match at some point. (And yeah, I remeber what happened last time, Walcott's run draws in, Toure has bum sex with Babel and you get a penalty, GAY (but I blame our guys at least
))I'm worried that we are seriously running out of strikers, with Torres still recovering and Keane doing a groin today, thats leaves us with Kuyt up front (and maybe Babel I guess). Still that isn't ideal when you have Chelsea on the weekend and Athletico and soon after.

I want to see N'Gog and Nemeth, heard some good things in preseason. And supposedly Pacheco, an attack mid, is quite good. Really don't know too much though, apart from what I've read on .tv
surely neither robbie keane or dirk kuyt are good enough to lead a liverpool strike force?
torres is obviously plenty good enough, but i mean keane wasn't even goon enough to lead a Tottenham strike pair!
apparently benitez had the opportunity to buy Aguero a few years back but opten to buy dirk kuyt and jermaine pennant instead
GORDON BROWN has been urged to topple the American owners of Liverpool Football Club, in an astonishing coup bid by six Merseyside MPs.
The MPs, led by Waltons Peter Kilfoyle, want the Government through the part-nationalisation of the Royal Bank of Scotland to pull the plug on a 350m loan to Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Give Rafa a break, it was several years ago and the guy was young and unproven.
The draw was an ok result but Keane should have scored 2 by half time. Gerrard put one on a plate for him on the edge of the 6 yard box and he tried a fancy back heel flick and missed it completely. All he had to do was side foot it and it's 2-0.
