Just what we needed today, good win. Keano grabbing a brace and Arbeloa adding an extra. Good to see Keane grab first league goals

Completely untroubled today.  Bolton, Fulham and West Ham next up in the league.  Just have to keep winning (not to state the obvious too much!).

Good to see Torres back on the park too.

Good win at Bolton, hopefully back on track now. Good to see Kuyt score another. Robbie Keane is getting worryingly close to being a big flop, maybe he needs a bit of time out of the starting line up. Babel wants his place, but with the way Kuyt's been playing and Torres coming back it seems logical that Keane should miss out.

See my previous comments on him. Not a surprise. He missed another sitter against Bolton, it seemed easier to miss than score but I almost think he went for it with his wrong foot.

One thing in his defence (I can't believe I'm doing this) is that he is being asked to be the main striker at the moment while Torres gets back up to speed which is not his strength. He plays better as the second striker.

Thank goodness for Kuyt, long may he continue to bang in important goals.

Beautiful piece of skill from Torres for the cross for the second goal.

There were a few pretty awful misses by us...

Keane's sitter, Gerrard had a similar chance, Torres struck the post, also Lucas missed one. I was very worried during the first 10 minutes of the second half, where ricardo gardner revitalised them, but overall happy to see Torres making an impact off the bench and of course collect three points.

Not really related to Bolton game but I'm also VERY glad to see that we are winning even when Torres and Gerrard are out, even if it isn't a certain ROBBIE KEANE scoring the goals...we have Dirk Kuyt who has his scoring touch back.

May our title bid continue

Alonso is playing well, I would be gutted if he left.

Yep, its all looking good at this stage, I'd feel alot better if Chelsea started to look shakey, they have half their team out injured and they still seem to be winning easily each week. An injury to John Terry and Frank Lampard would make me feel alot better!

Actually happy for Chelsea to be where they are for now.

Everyone assumes that sooner or later the wheels will fall of the Liverpool wagon and we'll drift out of the race. But if we were in 1st then we'd have a big target on our backs.

Right now I'm happy for Chelski to be the team everyone's gunning for and we can just keep trucking along as we are.

That would make me feel better any time.

But they are doing it easy, damn them.

Lucky that all the top teams (including Hull) had draws today (except Arsenal, oops they lost). Otherwise a draw with Fulham would have looked a whole lot worse.

We're not a top team anymore

Three for me, and two for them.

All the top teams drawing means the result doesn't look so bad. Missed Gerrard and Alonso (for most of the game) Lucas didn't step up. Keane again, was disappointing, some time on the sidelines might do him some good. Is not like we don't have options...Kuyt and Torres really should be picked up front, then there's Babel

I wanna see what all the hype about our young players like N'Gog or Nemeth, don't want them to end up like Sinama or even Paul Anderson, who we have yet to get a look at even though he was touted as a first teamer 2 years ago but is constently out on loan.

Anyone think 'the Emperor' would be a good signing. I for one don't think he will change enough to fit in. Or really want to move to the Merseyside.

1 - 0 over Marseilles this morning.

Apparently a bit ugly in the second half but we're through to the knockout stages with a game to spare.

Linds - this might mean you get a chance to see one or two of those fringe players in the last group game.

We could be playing some rough teams in the knock out stages if we finish first and others stay where they are. Real, Bayern, Chelsea. Still, we have to beate veryone to win. To be fair some of those guys who go out on loan don't set the world on fire but Rafa does seem pretty loyal to players. Big win VS Blackburn this weekend?

Bugger! Should have gone 3 clear, but drew against Hammers.

Missed Torres big time up front from the sound of things.

Still, top of the table outright, clear by one point!

I wouldn't say battered you just figured out how to keep Keane out of the match and defended well, lot's of, (light), Blue shirts when needed filling every friggin gap imaginable. You never played to win unless you count trying to nick a  goal. I thought Zola was spot on with what he did and I thought West Ham played a great game but ultimately it's Liverpool not figuring out what to do to kill these teams off.

Very unusual seeing Liverpool top of the table in December!

Feel odd. Playing average, only played a handful of really good games, yet are top of the table.

Good-ish win on the weekend, horrible first half but second half was much better. Score looks good but still not the performances expected. Still can't complain, top of the table.

Top is good, apparently. Interesting to see (on the highlights show tonight) Redknap might be keen on Keane again at Spurs (sorry). 20million pounds suggested. If there is anyone else out there, take it, I say.

Take it! Quick before he changes his mind.

The rumours are flying around already. I've seen articles saying that either Heskey or Owen could come back. I don't think Owen would be a good idea but Heskey as a target with Torres running off him would be awesome to see.

Trouble is given Torres injury problems this season we need a striker who can sit up top by himself with Gerrard just in behind him. That role wouldn't suit Heskey I don't think.

I read an interview with Thierry Henry recently where he said that he would love to play along side Gerrard and that Stevie once tried to convinve him to sign with us! Now that would be awesome.

Never happen tho'.

The squads been named for the PSV game. It includes Martin Kelly, Jay Spearing and Stephen Darby from the reserves.

Good to see the young guys getting blooded. It'll be interesting to see how they go if they get on.

Another solid 2nd half performance after a so-so 1st half.

3-1 with goals to Babel, Reira and Ngog.

Still gonna be a tough draw. Riera's goal was pretty impressive. Hopefully Babel will quiet down a bit and start playing some good football. Good to see N'Gog score too, gutted Keane didn't get a goal he needs some, but he did set up N'Gog.

No one worried that Benitez may leave at the end of the year? If this board stays on, it may happen. I would wan to keep him on, but if we lose him then who is there to get?

Looks like Benitez will be signing on. Still waiting on confirmation.

I don't think Keane should leave, he's only just started give him a little longer.

AC Milan is after Agger. Agger is potentially the best centerback we have. Technically the best too. I don't want to lose him and be left with more physical pairing of Skrtel and Carragher.

We could draw either Inter, Real, Villarreal, Lyon and Sporting in the next round.

Anyone wanting to smash Madrid, never liked that team. I have a feeling we'll get them.

A story comes out that Milan want to sign Agger at the same time that he is renegotiating his contract. Coincidence? I think not.

I'd be happy if we get Real. We always seem to trip up in Europe against teams we're supposed to beat and put up our best performances against the big teams.

Personally I think it is inevitable that we will draw Inter and re-unite Benitez and Mourinho.

Bums, another 2 points dropped that we should have secured.

Hull at home seemed like a perfect opportunity to go widen the gap at the top, but after 20 mins it was obvious that it wasn't going to be the cakewalk I was expecting.

Credit to Hull though, thought they came with a plan and executed it...

Thank god for the Hammers is all I can really say...
