Oh dear 3-1 at home after taking the lead. What a time to choose to lose at home.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

He does fine. How'd the "best player in the world" cope with him? I thought he had a good second half against Fulham, getting physical, after bouncing off a player when he tried to make a tackle in the first half! He has some terrbile weaknesses, but show a little bit more faith!

Lucas was immense this morning, from a Chelsea perspective.

Unreal.....they could have scored more if Drogba was on target in the first half. All that optimism gone in one game. Do we still believe?! Terry out for the return leg Mascher back in

Played absolutely horrible today, just the simple things. Looked nervy at start, thought goal would calm them down but got worse. Terrible marking on both Ivanovic goals , Chelski played well at the back but were nothing special going forward, really just gave them the game.

Need 3-0 at the bridge to progress now. With this defeat and Man U's win over Villa we have lost all the momentum we had created in both competitions.

I like your optimism but it's going to take a quality performance from the blues to get a couple past Reina.

Quality indeed

I loved how, during the match, Chelsea fans were singing: "one goal, you've only got one goal!".

Another good win but Blackburn didn't intend to attack us playing Samba up front and playing a heap of defenders. Comfortable win, glad to see Torres grab a brace, also nice to see Agger back too and N'Gog added the icing.

Gutted Manc's won as Sunderland were playing really well and deserved to draw and it was a harsh deflected goal that won the game, they have been really lucky of late.

We looked very strong this morn. I actually think that the Manure are struggling  bit at the mo. They didn't look very confident. If we can pick up a win against Arsenal next week it should make for a real tight finish.

Good effort today, good game for neutral. Drogba today was the best and worst of football, brilliant yet despicable. Every time looked like we had the momentum Chelsea managed to some how score. I expect Barcelona to dispatch them though.

Unlucky boys.  You certainly turned up this morning and made a game of it. It was always going to be a big ask but by God you came close!  Don't worry, next year it's your turn again!

Yup, Chelskis last 2 to really soft from a defensive standpoint.

Heart in mouth stuff while it was 4-3, almost thought we'd pull another 2005 out of the hat.

Wasn't meant to be, now we can focus on the league, blah blah blah...

Drogba is all that is wrong with football, a sulking, cheating, diving scumbag. Pisses me off that he can be so damn good, yet so damn pathetic...

When was the last time both teams let in so many goals? Anfield and The Bridge have been like fortresses...

To be honest, while it was an absorbing contest full of drama, quality that I'd expect from such two sides was sadly lacking...some of the goals in that game could've come straight from Div 16.

Meh. Havent been on in a while, so here I go...

That first game at Anfield was pretty bad, but we got completely out-played no doubt. Beaten by the better team. We really missed Masch, but the defence was all over the place.

Torres... Sensational goal. Blackburn was a good result and the late goals were thoroughly deserved to put the gloss on it. They offered nothing though. Good to get a comfortable three points though.

Today's game... What a game. 0-2 up I thought we could do it. But some terrible defending and that smash from Alex seemed to have us out. However, we fought back and at 3-4 I was so sure we'd get through!! Lionel Yossi looked in the mood right at the end and was exactly the kind of player who could cut them in half. But alas, it was not meant to be. A heroic effort, and one that we can be so proud of. I know I am. People were saying before "They cant get 3 goals" and then we got 4! That was a fitting tribute to the 96. RIP.

YNWA and Justice for the 96

Also just have to have two shots at Chelsea: the flags are awfully embarassing. And Drogba is just such a horrible player. Cannot stand him. However, they deserved to go through after that performance at Anfield, so well done, but I hope Barca beat you...

Next up, Arsenal! All we have is the League, so we have to win this...

Should be a good game against the Arse. Both teams have some pretty good form at the moment. Being a home game though I'm confident we can win. Hopefully Gerrard will back this weekend too.

Good luck for the game with us next week, it will be a bloody blinder! another 4-4 draw would be great  Just do us a favour and make sure those Manyoo tossa's don't get the EPL, and we'll make sure they don't get the ECL or the FA Cup

Sorry mate, if you want us to topple the 's in the EPL a draw on Wednesday morning won't do. You don't have to worry about that though, we'll just mow you down anyway

It's going to be good bruv, I think i'm going to be watching it with a couple of mates, 2 arse supporters, 2 pool supports, should be interesting! TBH i'd much rather we play our B team and rest the big boys to secure a couple of trophies you guys don't seem keen on

I think the side that comes out against you guys will be fairly second string.
The only thing we have left to play for in terms of the premier league is catching 3rd and even then that is well down on the priority list compared to trips to wembley and old trafford repsectively either side of this match.

tbh we're probably you're best chance to win the EPL, if we let you beat us () and then beat United, you lot may have a decent shot at it.

Exactly my thinking too. We still need someone else to get a result against them as well though on top of that.

we're 8 points clear of villa atm, about 6 weeks ago we were 6 points behind them, we should be ok for fourth. which is pretty irrelevant conversation to be having on the liverpool thread..sorry.

anywho, convincing me that we still need to protect fourth won't make Arsene take the game against Liverpool any more seriously.

won't it be fun supporting l'Arse for a day Michael?

Think someone said 1-3 get automatic group qualification, 4th place has to qualify for the group stage.

At the end of the day, Arsenal will put their best team, Liverpool will put their best team out.
We will still win, no questions asked. If ya play that sh*te goalie ya played this morning, should do it  quite comfortably. Say 4 - 0. Better performance needed by ya defence, absolutely shocking, made Drogba look good.
