Hopefully the gunners play as poorly as they did versus Chelsea so we can get an easy win. That defence is poor and on top on that (having Silvestre and Eboue) the keeper Fabianski isn't confident at all and I would think the defenders wouldn't have much confidence in him either.

Also in Diaby and Denilson dwell on the ball for that long then Masch and Xabi and gonna to take the ball away from them every time.

Lets hope they continue their form versus us then, become magically stronger versus the Mancs.

King Kenny coming back?

That would be brilliant, if he works in harmony with Benitez. Supposedly as an Adviser.

Looks like he's taking over development of the Reserves. It'll be great having him work with the younger players. Rafa's "5 year plan" might just turn into something special

I was also reading on the weekend that Rafa's hoping Alonso will stay and extend his contract. They've obviously not quite been on the same page in the past but I hope Xabi sticks around, he's been pretty key in the midfield this season.

Also, it looks like Voronin will be back as Hertha haven't been able to negotiate an appropriate price for him. Not totally enthused about his return, and I think we can sell him off over the summer now that we have Benny as a striking back up.

Yeah, Drogba got the better of Torres in that tie. No doubt. But at least Torres didnt cheat!!! (clutching at straws here).

I really, really hope we beat Arsenal! And, as you say, you are our best chance at winning the League. Please roll over and die at Anfield.

, my dad was nearly in tears when he heard that the King was coming back!!

Thought the commentator was really nasty towards Fabianski against Chelsea. Good luck at knocking them Mancs out of Europe though!

Meh, hopefully we can sell Voronin, I'm sure some other clubs would be keen in Germany?

I hope Torres can put some ball in the net tomorrow morning, he should be fizzing after studying those Fabianski maneuvers

My. God.

Should've won that. 2 mistakes handed 'em goals.

Exciting stuff, but draw not good enough.

More like 3 mistakes, exciting but disappointing, have a lot of games to remember this year but seems like it will be in disappointment.

Mascherano caught in possession, Arbeola giving the ball to Arshavin and Aurelio passing in box directly into his path too. Forth goal we pushed up too far to get the winner.

Defensive errors and brilliant Arshavin finishing cost us a win today, also Fabianski was brilliant in the first half.

Thing is why did Wegner keep players like Arshavin and Nasri out in a FA Semi versus Chelski and play them in a game that meant little to him.

Now that the dust has settled I'm a bit gutted. We really needed those points and shouldn't have let 4 in the net. Credit due to Arsenal though, well Arshavin at least...

At the end of the day, Arsenal will put their best team, Liverpool will put their best team out.
We will still win, no questions asked. If ya play that sh*te goalie ya played this morning, should do it  quite comfortably. Say 4 - 0. Better performance needed by ya defence, absolutely shocking, made Drogba look good.

Well ya got the four goals against our sh*t defence... pity yours was just as bad lol

But in all seriousness, cracker of a game. Surprisingly i wasnt too disappointed when you got the equaliser at the death, was no less than you deserved. The match stats were overwhelmingly in your favour.

As i think linds accurately said, some poor defending and brilliant arshavin finising cost you the win.

Oh well, we'll do our bit and knock over the mancs for ya, you just gotta hope that someone else does it too... not outta reach just yet guys, chin up!

yeah i was the same, usually a 93rd minuted equaliser would not go down well but this time was different. although that was possibly becuase of what happened on the sidelines as i mentioned in the gooner thread: Wenger unleashing his anger on a ball and that connecting with Arbeloa in the face.

As has been said, some simply awful defending. 3 gifts to Arshavin. It feels like a loss anyway, potentially 6 points behind United. Arsenal weren't great today, but we let them back in it. We should have won, though. Fabianski was good in the first half. Why, oh why, couldnt you just let us win it?!

What actually happened with Wenger and Arbeloa? When I first heard it I thought he said Wenger had struck Arbeloa in the face!! But was he just angry they'd conceded? And what did Alvaro do?

Masch had a surprisingly poor game. Benayoun was sensational, Torres and Kuyt were really good. Alonso did okay. Carra was great but when you let in 4 goals its hard to talk the defenders up too much! Really diasspointed with the result, but cant fault the effort. Super game for anyone but us.

All the best for the rest of the season Arsenal. Please beat the Mancs in the League, and Europe too. City and Spuds will beat them too. We're gonna win the League, and now you're gonna believe us! COME ON LIVERPOOL (and any team who plays United)! BELIEF.

yeah mate we have to knock them outta champions league and our epl game against them is the 2nd to last round so it could be the most interest game of the season really, we will be dead keen on knocking them out for all three games but it'll be a hard ask. i really hope they dont end up winning anything LOL

, I'd be happy if they never won another trophy ever again. Trouble with the timing of the Prem game against them is it could be too little too late, if we slip up one more time. But oh well, we just have to win all of our games and hope for the best. El-Kun2009-04-22 16:40:29

Pretty unconvincing win today, fairly disappointed with the performance. Other than Dirk grabbing a double and Benayoun's dribbling there isn't much else that good to talk about.

I think we'll just focus on the 3 points we got from that one...

Indeed. Scrappy stuff... Still, thats how it's done. Juts want to say how awful the Hull fans were. Kuyt and Insua were great, Xabi was good in the 2nd half, although pretty average in the first. Didnt think Benayoun did too well, although he's allowed an off game!

I would also like to retract my comment about Masch in the Arsenal game. His effort was top class.

Pity United won...

Did anyone else think the pitch looked dodgy?

Every ball along the ground looked like it was bobbling all over the place.

Do Hull share the ground with the league club?

Yeah sounds like they both share KC Stadium...

So, we've got the Toons this weekend. Gerrard looks to be back and it's probably a good game for him to ease back in. As much as I don't particularly want to see the barcodes relegated I am hoping for a fair thrashing. I just hope we don't go and get all complacent with the cellar dwellers like we've been known to in the past...TheKop2009-05-01 08:28:10

Agreed. We should win this, and we need to, but its a funny game. Should be the best eleven we can put out, as we have nothing else to worry about.

On a side note; cmon the Boro!

Good news, Dan Agger re-signs. I've said it before, but I think that Agger is a better defender than Skrtel. But also, new rumours of Xabi leaving and Babel seems to want to leave, hope they both stay on. Other transfer news, Lennon and Downing continue to be linked.

Youth team is doing well again into the third final in last 4 years. So hopefully we can see some of those players progress to the first team. Lauri Della Valle being our latest wonder kid.

Toon tonight, read some reports that Torres and Gerrard might not be fit enough to start.

Didn't see the game last night but I think Torres was left out all together and Gerrard came on off the bench. Didn't look to be much in it, I'd say Rafa's keeping them in cotton wool for the games coming up.

Good news about Agger, Skrtel's defense still gives me the willies sometimes although I think he's improved a bit this season. I hope Alonso signs, he's solid in the middle. Could go either way with Babel tho, I think his attitude puts me off more than anything...

Edit:
Gerrad did start. Torres out for suspected hammy... :(TheKop2009-05-04 08:34:22
