Glad Stevie won that award, thoroughly deserved. I really REALLY hope we dont sell Xabi.

Ah, Wigan... Now its up to Arsenal! To win at Old Trafford. Lets face it, the way they talk about United (Bruce, Whelan etc) is a disgrace. Fine, acknowledge how great they are, but dont say it would be a shame to beat them! Disgrace.

It is about time that you Liverpool fans take the patch off your eyes, stop calling United scum, and get a life, knowing that United were the best team.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

a lot of manure fans also stock Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool jerseys in their closet just in case someone else starts winning the trophies. Good to have one's bases covered.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

. Is right.

I cannot stand them, dont get me wrong. But they're a fantastic side. You can hardly dispute that. They cheat, get lucky decisions, are a bunch of arrogant tw*ts. But they're on course to win a quadruple or some madness...

Meh. Bring him back on a free!! We'd do better having him in the squad than the likes of Degen!

Ha, no, we are not perfect. But, and this is obviously biased, I genuinely think our players like playing for our team (for the most part). But meh.

I quite agree with you, but the fact is that the Liverpool supporters hate Man U regardless of the fact that they happen to be the better team at the moment.
If you look at the results in the last few months, Liverpool should have won the league by a country mile.
Ever since the Liverpool Manager went on TV and slamed Alec Ferguson for have too much say in thr FA and on referees, they dropped points in the next few games. This is what cost them the league. They only have themselves to blame.

Some of those guys were pretty classy. Second pool goal was wicked.

That last goal was an ass kissing exercise and he still nearly f*cked it right up!

Rafa won the mind games, who conceded a penalty and had a red card...?

Hmm. His facts had no influence on us hitting the post in the last minute against Stoke... I think the fact we did the double of Chelsea and United makes us frustrated with the draws at home. And we know its our fault. But we havent been top of the League in May for years. This is a new experience for us, and so we will hopefully learn from it, and improve it next season.

And regarding the fact that we hate United even though they're the better team, thats stupid! Do you think we would hate them if they were in Division 2 or something? Yes! Do you think maybe our hatred is fuelled, in part, from some jealousy too? Its not as if we're gonna go down on our knees and kiss the feet of the mighty Mr Ferguson because they're better than us! Pshh.

Just when you thought your day couldn't get any better with United lifting the Premiership... it actually did!

Xabi Alonso:
"Time flies. I have already been here for five years, and it has gone so fast.

"There have been ups and downs, but I have tried to enjoy and learn from every situation. I have developed into a much better player and person.

"A lot of things have changed for me during my time here and now I am looking forward to my sixth season as a Liverpool player.''

I hope that means he's sticking around.

Meh. I wouldn't say Mr Ferguson won the mind games. He just won trophies! Becuase he has a bigger, more experienced squad, and we weren't good enough at the end of the day.

Good result this morning, although it hardly matters. Baggies down. Sad to see them go, I'm gonna miss watching Carson make howler after howler every week!

Great news about Xabi, if Rafa agrees to keep him. Which I really hope.

Good ol' Carra! He said after the game it was about keeping a clean sheet. Reina has 20 now and VDS has 21. They've been working hard to equal him and Carra felt the lads were letting the side down. The old bulldog gave the young pups a bit of a shake up

Yeah. Respect. It's a shame that they go down and the likes of Stoke stay up. At least they're trying to play decent football (I'm probably only saying that cos we only managed to get 2 points off Stoke!).

Gerrard wants Lucas to stay and given more time, on goal though...so. Still undecided about him, he's failed to flatter so far, performances from poor to average. But I always think about him being Brazilian player of the year, following in the footsteps of Tevez, Robinho, Kaka, Romario...

Lucas is one for the future. A bit of Mascherano in him but he'll need to improve his distribution to be regular starter next season, especially if Xabi leaves!

Benitez: Liverpool may break transfer record

Interesting words from Rafa, I just hope these extra funds aren't coming from Alonso...
I wonder if he's going to make a concerted effort to get Silva? I just don't see Silva as a record breaker though.

Meh. I still think Lucas is worth it. Played well against WBA, but also against the Hammers too. And the Mancs!

I see Atleti are back at Anfield for a pre-season! Yay!!

Agree, I dont think Silva would warrant that price... Don't know who else, apart from the Tevez rumours, which I don't really believe.

I thought we had signed Danijel Pranjic and were about to sign Alvaro Negredo. Both seem like 2nd choice buys though. Silva would be a great signing, then Riera would probably want out (which is unfair on him because he has played well). Always liked Valenica left wingers; Vicente, and now they have David Silva and Juan Manuel Mata.. The later meaning Silva could be expendable.

I just wondering what happened with these guys, I thought they were signing them up too but all's gone quiet. Maybe Rafa has a grander plan... {insert Dr Evil laugh}

Good win this morning. Typical of Keane to score at Anfield...

Alonso update:
"I repeat, we do not want to sell, he is not for sale. He has said he is happy here in Liverpool, in every single press conference, in every single interview.
- Rafa (after match comments)

'Hopefully' End of.

Liverpool played 55 games in all competitions this season.

Carra started 53 of them and came on as sub in another.

He picked up just two yellow cards - incredible for a defender playing that many games.

Legend.

We have to wait on Negredo as Real have a buy-back clause that doesn't expire until June. He looks pretty useful, been banging them in for Almeria which is impressive. Could get him for around 4M which would be a bargain.

Hadn't heard the Pranjic rumour.

Benitez has 20M + whatever he can raise from selling players. That might include the cash from selling Keane and does include cash from Jack Hobbs and Paul Anderson. Will include cash from Voronin.

So who else does he get rid of?

Babel? Itandje for sure. Degen? Plessis?
